Sour Mash Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Cannot see Sharp playing, think the OS have got that wrong. The rule the FA impose is a fair one, as a team could take someone to a replay, sign 8 new players and then win the replay in totally distorted terms. It's only fair that the replay is contested with players that were available in the original tie. Even playing field and all that. Why? It's a stupid rule, absolutely pointless, same as the "Cup-tied" rule.
Leicestersaint Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Chaplow starts and so does Lee. It will be a strong side i think- maybe Lallana will be on the bench for a rest.
trousers Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Ok.....here's another stab in the dark at the squad..... 1. Bart 2. Richardson 3. Fonte 4. Jaidi 5. Shaw 6. Chaplow 7. Hammond © 8. Cork 9. Lallana 10. Lee 11. Lambert Bench: Davis, Harding, Martin, De Ridder, Ward-Prowse, Reeves, Puncheon

Saint Garrett Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 obviously some rotation for this game after a hard match in the snow. Make all 3 subs but start with it is davis.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 it is davis. And he won't start tomorrow evening. Cup is Bart territory.
Matthew Le God Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 For those that have put him in their sides, Luke Shaw was injured whilst training with England under 17's and won't be playing against Millwall.
Minsk Posted 6 February, 2012 Author Posted 6 February, 2012 Sharp will not play. Only players who where elligible for the original game can play in the replay with the exception of players that have served a suspension. Neither he nor Keogh for millwall can play. He will be elligible to play against Bolton, should we do the business tomorrow. Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh, I see. Well, you learn something new every day.
trousers Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 For those that have put him in their sides, Luke Shaw was injured whilst training with England under 17's and won't be playing against Millwall. Any idea if a serious injury?
Saint Garrett Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Bart Frazer, Fonte, Martin, Harding Chaplow, Hammond, JWP, De Ridder Lambert, Lee. Davis, Stephens, Reeves, Cork, Puncheon, Barnard, Guly

Leicestersaint Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 I would try Butterfield at right back - why is he not given more fo a chance? I also think Reeves and/or Ward-Prowse will get a game. Also probably Holmes.
Dalek2003 Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Butterfield seems to be the forgotten man. Don't know why as i think he is a pretty good player.
Matthew Le God Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Butterfield seems to be the forgotten man. Don't know why as i think he is a pretty good player. Because Richardson is better?
Sour Mash Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Because Richardson is better? that's not his point. It's an odd one that Butterfield hardly gets a look in, with Harding being preferred to himas a 2nd choice right back. I've heard from the horses mouth that Butterfield isn't a fan of Adkins, can now see why.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 For a large squad to work we need to give the fringe players every opportunity to impress in order to keep them motivated and prepared to step-in. Therefore I'd go with this: Bart Butterfield - Martin - Fonte - Harding De Ridder - Hammond - Ward-Prowse - Chaplow Guly - Lee With Barnard and Reeves to get gametime (at least half an hour each).
vince Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 There will be commentary on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tomorrow evening, apparently.
beatlesaint Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 is Fox only suspended for this game, Solent sounded clueless on Saturday as to what game he would miss ?

(Sorry to ruin your Adkins bashing)
Matthew Le God Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Harding being preferred to Butterfield as a 2nd choice right back. When was that then?
Minsk Posted 6 February, 2012 Author Posted 6 February, 2012 is Fox only suspended for this game, Solent sounded clueless on Saturday as to what game he would miss ? 2 yellows is usally a 1 match ban, so I think this should be the only 1 he misses.
Sour Mash Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Both Butterfield and Richardson were injured when Harding was played at RB. (Sorry to ruin your Adkins bashing) Who's bashing Adkins you know nothing cretin?
shurlock Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Both Butterfield and Richardson were injured when Harding was played at RB. (Sorry to ruin your Adkins bashing) When Harding was played at RB at Forest, Butterfield was available- he came on I think (Of course, Adkins might just have been sticking to the formula that won at Coventry, a game Butterfield had missed through injury)
Minsk Posted 6 February, 2012 Author Posted 6 February, 2012 Who's bashing Adkins you know nothing cretin? "I've heard from the horses mouth that Butterfield isn't a fan of Adkins, can now see why." Comes across as Adkins bashing to me. And why the need for name calling? It really does make you look like an infantile little school boy. However, I do note that you did not try to argue the point that Harding was only used as back-up RB because Butterfield was also injured. I guess I do know something after all!
Minsk Posted 6 February, 2012 Author Posted 6 February, 2012 When Harding was played at RB at Forest, Butterfield was available- he came on I think (Of course, Adkins might just have been sticking to the formula that won at Coventry, a game Butterfield had missed through injury) Exactly. Butterfield and Richardson were injured for the Cov match. The following one, Forest, saw Butterfield fit enough for a place on the bench but (presumably) not 'match fit' enough to start. Therefore, one could hardly say Adkins prefers Harding at RB over Butterfield. (There have been numerous occasions where Adkins has played Butterfield at RB when he could have used Harding there if this were really true.)

SuperMikey Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Chaplow is starting. Hadn't watched the build-up videos on SaintsPlayer before posting that up, now fixed. Will be great to see Chaplow running his arse off, hopefully he'll grab a goal as well!
LaptopSaint Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 More interested in Burnley game already. Having only won two from ten in the league, we just need to beg steal or borrow three points this weekend. Five nil with Lambo and Sharp scoring a couple each with a late Kelvin header when he's up for a last minute corner would be nice. But I'd settle for a scrappy one nil deflected goal off a defender's @rse to be frank. Happy to beat Millwall too of course!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 6 February, 2012 Posted 6 February, 2012 Could anyone tell me what time the ticket office is open until tomorrow please? Assuming my tickets don't come in the post tomorrow I'd like to collect them on the way to the pub at around 5.45ish. On the OS it states that it's open until 30 minutes after kick off on a matchday, but not sure whether that is applicable to Tuesday night games. Cheers!
bpsaint Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 (edited) 2 yellows is usally a 1 match ban, so I think this should be the only 1 he misses. Not sure it's as simple as that, always thought 2 yellows was a 7 day ban which might be why Radio Solent were confused. Edited 7 February, 2012 by bpsaint
Lets B Avenue Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 Not sure it's as simple as that, always thought 2 yellows was a 7 day ban which might be why Radio Solent were confused. There is no 7 day rule. If there were, Ricky would have been free to play at Coventry, 5 days after he was sent off at Brighton.

I think tonights game is vital for our confidence ahead of the Burnley game we need to get back to winning ways at home pronto a win tonight would be the shot in the arm we need we have a few players that need a game Chaplow & Lee for a start I am looking forward to it I am sure NA & the team will be taking it seriously

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 i would go with the following bart frazer fonte martin harding chaplow hammond puncheon sdr guly lee subs davis stephens jaidi lambert reeves holmes JWP
Leicestersaint Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 Because Richardson is better? Butterfield played against Middlesborough and did OK. Arguably one of Saints best performances. Richardson hasn't looked fit to me recently with dreadful passing and crossing.
supersonic Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 I'd like to see Lloyd Isfrove given a start tonight, or at least be on the bench. Always looks a tidy player and is very good. Seems to be caught in that gap between academy and first team like Reeves was for a while. We are lacking at RM without Punch and he should have a chance Bart Butterfield Martin Fonte Harding Puncheon Reeves Chaplow Isgrove Lambert Lee

Our side will include one of the 3 regular DM players, probably Hammond but it could just be either Morgan or Cork. This is a vital role and we certainly won't go without one,Chaplow can't play there because he's not a great header of the ball and he tackles like a JCB that's out of control.

Cork should not start imo - he needs to be rested after the gruelling Brum match. He's played more than most and must be fresh for the League matches.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 ----------------Bart--------------- Richardson--Fonte--Martin--Harding -------------Hammond------------ ------Chaplow--------Puncheon---- --------------Reeves-------------- --------Lambert-----Lee----------- Bench: Davis, Butterfield, Morgan/Cork, De Ridder, Guly, Hoskins, JWP That's my guess.
The Cat Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 Not much mention of Ward-Prowse yet. I'd have him on the bench at the very least if he's fit. Bart Butterfield Martin Hooiveld/Fonte (I'd give one 60 mins, the other the last 30) Harding Chaplow Hammond Reeves De Ridder Lee Lambert Davis, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Connolly, Guly, Puncheon, Fonte/Hooiveld
Winchester Red Posted 7 February, 2012 Posted 7 February, 2012 I'd have thought Martin would be the central defender who'd deserve a break now. He's played a lot of football lately. You could argue that Hooiveld and Fonte both need game time
