As said in my 'back from the game' thread It took me 3 hours to get to Coventry and home. Godspeed to anyone making the trip. I would say the best thing would be find a hotel and make camp, it is that dangerous on the roads.

Not long home, it took us 7 and a half hours. Tried to do a detour but encountered 2 buses on a hill sliding around into each other. Tried another couple of ways but came across other cars spinning about and blocking roads.

If I never see snow again I'll be a happy man, goodnight!

We live in Redditch normally 25 mins from St Andrews it took us 4 hours had to push god knows how many cars, we got stuck about 5 times had to be towed once not one did anyone help push us (probably because we had saints shirts on) we had the Saints team bus behind us for couple of hours. I tweeted few players and told them we were just in front of them and could I use the toilet but no response

Got the train home - good decision as I was going to drive - and back in by 9.45! The only hardship was waiting an hour in the pub for the next train.

Felt sorry for the Saints fans at the station hearing the train to London was either cancelled or delayed.

Still well worth the effort and glad I went.

Strangely was stood next to someone from Redditch at the game, was that you Westmidlandsaint?

Awful journey back on the London Bound trains….

1 train turned into 4!!

Ist train was full of Snow Patrol fans going to the NEC, they were worried about missing the start!!

Then we were asked to change trains twice at Northampton station!

After a very lengthy stop at the station, The train announcer said, …“I have been asked to terminate the train by my company at this station, but like you passengers, I am the last person to be told and I have no idea why we are terminating”

Eventually got to Hemel Station around 11.30’ish, to find not 1 single car at the station…no one, no Taxis, nothing!!

Had to trundle in a blizzard the whole way home by foot… the whole effing 4 miles!!!

I walked up the steep hill from Hemel Town Centre, passing literally dozens of cars abandoning their journey, or getting tows!!!

got in around 1am to (Hemel Hempstead).

Was it worth it>>>> funnily enough…. Yes!! I enjoyed the day in a strange distorted sort of way.

Got home to Sussex at 05.30 am, after connecting train at Watford (to Clapham) left us stranded at Wembley Central for 2.5 hours.

Was worth it though. Saints fans in good voice and the team played admirably - was expecting us to get hammered but in the end we dominated large parts of the game

Took us four and a half hours to get back to Bishops Waltham, not bad going on what I'm reading here!

I got back to Hamble at 1.15 which seems decent compared with a lot of people. Went on a bit of a detour of B roads in Brum to get away from the gridlocked A roads. This seemed to work, albeit with a few detours from the detour after I encountered a burger van stuck across the road and one bit where a local told me not to go the way I was heading or I'd be there all night.

The M40 was insane. Saw loads of cars all over the place. Followed a lorry for over an hour at 30mph so I could just stay in its tracks before it stopped on a hill to help some stranded cars. Luckily I managed to wheelspin past it, back into the inside lane and carried on. It was that or sleep in the car in the middle of the motorway which I didn't fancy.

Definitely a journey I'll never forget.

We found the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but only £15 each to stay, just went and had a superb night, had breakfast in the selly sausage this morning ( what a superb name for a cafe in sellyfield ) roads were dead clear today, so as per normal another great away trip only ruined by 90 mins of football :)

Was at Wembley Central as well, what time did those taxis turn up in the end? We decided to jump on the Trafalgar Square bus which took 1.5hrs, to get a taxi from central London to Winchester, got quoted £300 so walked to Waterloo and got the 7.54 train in the end!! Was an absolute nightmare, it was obvious that the trains were going to be delayed a bit so we jumped on the train that would've got back in at 10.30pm, hoping that the guard would have common sense and let us sit in the corridor but we got kicked off and got back in at 9.30am!!

Selly Oak....

I also stayed in Selly for the night, studentsville.

I got home at 2. Brum was a nightmare, why on earth did they let double deckers go out in that, they all go stuck and clogged up the roads.

Train was delayed by an hour at Birmingham. Tubes were delayed when I got back to London and after a mad dash through Waterloo, I just made the last train home to Andover. That's the train I normally get after Northern away's so didn't affect me too much, other than ruining my plans of a couple of pints in London before heading home.

Looks like we made a good decision! We had tickets for the game, and were approaching Brum in the blizzard - cars slipping everywhere. We thought we might park and then not be able to get out of our parking space, so we phoned the hotel where we were staying and asked them if they had Sky Sports. We managed to persuade them to change the channel from the rugby in the bar, so enjoyed Saints' point accompanied by some potent cocktails - thanks to the Hyatt Regency!

I've never chickened out of going to a match before - I remember Reading away in the Cup when it was -12c under Souness, but when I saw our tickets were right at the front, it made my mind up.

Assume this is some kind of wind-up? Surely no one would actually drive all the way to Birmingham, then watch the game in their hotel bar due to an inch of snow?

No, its true. It's because we've been working near Birmingham at the NEC from Sunday until today, so we had to stay up there any rate. Incidentally, there are some good places to go out in Brum, you just have to ask the right people!

Bizarre. But each to their own...

So where was your hotel? Surely you could have just parked there and got a taxi?
