When i say All i mean all the games i've been to have been aways.

Ahahha, brilliant. Not that it matters how many games you've been too.

For what it is worth, I'm a season ticket holder and have been to almost every home game this season and Guly can be frustrating at times, but he delivers in goals and assists.

Q - Over 90 minutes, 46 games a season, is Guly do Prado a very good footballer ?

A - Although the stats my suggest otherwise, the evidence of my eyes tells me no he really isn't.

Q - Can he produce a 'magic moment' of class every now and then that leads to a goal ?

A - Oh yes

Q - Is that good enough to earn him a regular place in our team ?

A - Not if a more consistent alternative is available - in my view.

Not a bad summing up.

More consistent alternative? or consistently headless chicken-like?

Mods abusing their powers shocker.

FFS Baj and Stevegrant, sort it out.

Who started this thread?

More accurately, Moderator doing his job, and splitting irrelevant side discussion into a more appropriate topic.

Topic in question was "Weekend's other Championship fixtures".

As such, 'debating' the qualities of our Brazilian Striker seems just a little out of place in that topic, no?

Or as the Moderator in question aptly responded:

You de-railed a perfectly good thread about other games by discussing Guly, I took the time and trouble to move it to an area where you can keep going to your hearts content without cluttering a completely different topic.

In fact you should thank me.

How is it ruining a thread to post comments saying you don't rate a player.

Just because you and supermod don't agree with the view.

I bet you feel all important now you are starting threads in the name of other users.

It wouldn't be, if you were posting such comments in a topic about said player, or other related 'Saints performance/reaction' type thread. Perhaps 'ruining' is a touch strong, but taking the thread off topic, certainly.

I've been Administrating and Moderating Message/Discussion Boards for a very long time.

Correct form in this case, is a topic split, and St. Chalet executed said split very cleanly. There is nothing personal against you in starting the new topic 'in your name' dune. It is simply the first post which takes a thread off topic that is used to begin the new one. In this case, it was yours.

Chalet and saint clarke don't think guly is ****e, so anyone who does is wrong and they are not allowed to express their views.

Clearly not, as St. Chalet kindly took the time to create a new (more appropriate) topic for you to express your views in, rather than just trash binning them.

So you think it's ok for you to start threads in the name of other people with thread titles that you decide.

Yes. That is one of his responsibilities as a Moderator, and he's since offered you the opportunity to rename the topic as you choose, (within reason, I am sure ;) ).

I dont like some of his posts but you dont ban users just because they have different opinions!

No, you do not. But depending upon the manner in which those opinions are expressed, sometimes a ban may indeed be an appropriate measure to take.

Probably shouldnt ban peeps ever....... This is just a forum, not a nightclub!

Baj and Steve as the site owners, laid out a set of terms and conditions which we are required to adhere to, when signing up to become members of their forum. They select a team of Moderators to enforce those terms and conditions, in an attempt to try and run the forum in a manner that makes it an appealing place to visit and post in, for the majority of its members.

If some members choose to consistently, and intentionally conduct themselves in a manner out of line with those terms and conditions of membership (which they agreed to abide by when registering), despite numerous warnings, then banning them is an appropriate course of action to take.

Do you guys ever wonder why the overwhelming number of people don't post?

Such a shame

I could likely hazard some educated guesses.

It was a convo on another thread and clarky saw the opportunity to exorcise his power.

Or more accurately, St. Chalet saw the opportunity to use the tools he has at his disposal, to simply move the off topic side discussion to a more appropriate location; so that the original topic could be used for its intended purpose, without having to trawl through completely unrelated posts. Its called being a good Moderator.

It is often a most thankless task, which requires a thick skin, accompanied by a lot of patience and mental stamina.

You can never please all of the people, all of the time, but you just get on with the job, and do it the best you know how, often having to make decisions in the 'heat of the moment'. You certainly rarely get any respect for the work you do, so usually, you just do it because you care about the place, and are happy to volunteer your time to help keep it running as smoothly as possible.

By making out I started this thread with a stupid thread title.

If anyone had posted how wonderful Guly is that would have been fine, but because your gang all kicked up a fuss it wasn't up for discussion and so to reaffirm your allegience to their pithy cause you move the posts and give the thread a title that suits yours and their view point.

The Guly argument could go on and on. For me, he is unpredictable and at times, hugely frustrating (especially when his touch completely deserts him) but in flashes, he can be superb. Fortunately, the flashes come often enough that he has been hugely important at times this season.

For what it's worth, i feel like when he has one of his shockers, he quite often suddenly pops up with goal. Think he is having such a stinker that the opposition takes their eyes off him for second and that's when he nips in.

Anyway, glad we have him to be honest. Unpredictable is good, especially in a tight game. Sometimes he is a little bit lazy, drifts in and out of games, but for me there is no doubt that he has quality and can be a matchwinner.

I am pleased he is back, looked sharp and think hes a good player.

I think he's a good player, too, but with an infuriating tendency to go AWOL when we really need him - whether it's on a near-post assignment or for a prolonged passage of play. At times I'd like to slap him.

However, I do confess to a near involuntary evacuation when Nigel brought him on in a snowstorm. ;)

This feels a bit weird but I have decided to come out and admit that I think Guly is great! In fact I admit I like him and think he's amazing - in fact brilliant!

Please don't be angry with me all knowing Dune and his supporters.... I know it's an affliction for which I need help....I must be wrong he scores goals and creates for others. Still it's Sunday time for confession".......sorry oh all knowing Dune.....

I actually like Guly a lot! Shame on me! When everyone else around me are shouting at him, I cheer him on and quite often he scores and then they cheer him too! But then I loved MLT as well- he probably wouldn't be up to the standards required by many on this forum who would deem him frustrating and lazy!

In my opinion the above is a well-reasoned response that a few posting on here could step back and take a non-confrontational look at. I am guilty of knee-jerk reactions to certain threads and certain posters...negativity and lack of support being two things that do my head in but it has become apparent that most of the things that get me snapping back are the result of the same people making the same points time and again. Now (most of the time) I just ignore them...WUMs? Probably but that's the personality and they're not going to change.

To the thread - Guly...yes he can be frustrating but I would not want him playing against us would you? Capable of turning the match in a millisecond and nearly did so yesterday....how did Calwell only get a yellow?

I am happy to see that some posters recognise Guly's talents and his contribution to our (so far!) very successful season !

More importantly Nigel Adkins and his (experienced!) backroom team of football specialists recognise this too and play him regularly !

It's not difficult to differentiate between the knowledgable and the idiots on here at the best of times but this thread does seem to emphasise it very clearly !!

I think Danny Fox is ****.

So do I but back to Guly. He is frustrating at times but can be quite brilliant a moment later too. He's unpredictable, so if he or we dont know what he is going to do next how the hell can the opposition.

I like him.....but I was amazed to see him come on last night in those conditions.
