Relentless pressure and then Hughie Fisher nearly nicked a winner (not shown). Eric Martin's game of his life wearing thin cotton gloves, soaking wet. Orange ball and blue lines. I had no idea that film of that game existed!! I remember it like yesterday. Brilliant.

I suspect that picture was Michael Fish in the seventies, they were already on the computers by the late 80s (see the "there's not going to be a hurricane" videos from 1987 for proof).

My first away game was Sheffield we'd boxing day 68 or 69.we slipped and slides to the ground and missed half the game cos you could not see one goal through the snow storm. That's why I get frustrated by postponements. It's far too soft a game now

And when you're 10 there are funny things that stick in your memory. Perhaps a slight exaggeration - but I do remember the ball occassionally disappearing in the storm at the other end. Thought the ref might call it off but no one else really seemed to be othered about that.
