Wouldnt it be great if someone from the RAF did this again

Awesome stuff. Such a shame that it's pretty much the end of your career if you try something like that in any aircraft.

 

OK, his flying career was over, but they discharged him on medical grounds, meaning he kept all his dues. Presumably it would have drawn attention to the government and a defence policy that couldnt stand up to scrutiny if they court martialled him. When his case was heard, finally 14 yrs later, he was partially exonerated !! Did the trbiunal listening to that agree Wilson and Sandys were prats ? (not much argument from me...)

 

In present times, the time to have done this was definitely the Harrier's last flight last year. Most of those pilots are probably out of the RAF now anyway.
