hypochondriac Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport Thoughts? There are aspects I like such as the ability to see the latest championship table in the latest scores section now and the (kind of) updated league stats table. Dislike the bar at the top because having all the sports was easier for me to navigate as it was all there ready. Really hate the homepage and how 'busy' it looks. IMO much harder to read but I imagine I will get used to it in time.
Whitey Grandad Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 It wasn't broke so why did they 'fix' it?

positivepete Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 A step backwards. Previous upgrades have been good and intuitive, this one will take some getting used to.
LGTL Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 I loved the BBC Sport website, it was the best around. No need to change it, feels like they did it for the sake of it.
Saintandy666 Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 People always moan when stuff on their favourite web pages is changed, they always end up liking it just as much as the old in most cases.
S-Clarke Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 I think it's very slick. The live football page today was excellent and much more detailed. Check out all the info on the tables too, click on us and you see graphs, statistics etc on how we've done over the season. All pretty impressive and much more feature packed. Will take a bit of getting used to though.

washsaint Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 horrid, truly horrid....way too busy and cluttered. It wasn't broke!
Suhari Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 horrid, truly horrid....way too busy and cluttered. It wasn't broke! +1 and then some. Awful.
Jimmy_D Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Way too busy now. The headlines being on the right used to make sense, as the tables etc, further to the right looked seperate. Now that they've bought the whole lot together a bit more, having the headlines right down the middle of the page just looks odd.
JonnyLove Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 As someone pointed out on another site. "The new BBC Spot website seems to divide opinion between those who hate it and those who work for the BBC" lol
Julian H. Cope Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 I like yellow.
mdearlove Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 theverge.com used to be my most hated commercial website design but the BBC Sport site is running it pretty close now
Saint_Pedro Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 It looks dreadful imo. Apparently they did it in advance of their new "Olympic" site. Another "great" use of licence fee money, NOT.
stevegrant Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 It's a bit "Setanta" with all that yellow, but I like some of the functionality they've brought in, especially having live scores from a variety of European leagues as well as UK ones. Ken Tone Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 As someone pointed out on another site. "The new BBC Spot website seems to divide opinion between those who hate it and those who work for the BBC" lol lol indeed I expect we'll get used to it. But it really wasn't broke and did not need fixing. Sometimes it seems people just make work. Does the BBC not have better things to spend its time/money on? All the spoof web sites that are modelled on the BBC will have to redesign too now!
This Charming Man Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 It's a bit of a mess, all different sports news mixed into together. Preferred it when it was categorised but I'll get used to it and won't know any different within a few weeks.
TheVicar Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 I don't like any of the landing pages, when I go to the home page for example, I like text links to smaller pages not some video I don't want to watch. The sports page is quite tidy looking and navigates better than some.
jjsaint Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Hate it. It's offensive. I'd rather look at a screensaver of a decomposing wildebeest.
toofarnorth Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 The club specific mini site mobile versions dont seem to be working now which is annoying. You have to look at regular webpage. Hope this is just something they've not brought back online yet.
hypochondriac Posted 2 February, 2012 Author Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Apparently they are looking to get content on iPhones and iPads working in time for the Olympics.
