Low Balls

Legod Third Coming

Recommended Posts

Anyone watching another red and white striped team this evening?

Their third goal shows the value of whipping the ball in fast and low - it can come off anyone and go in!

We seem to always float balls to the back post at the moment, with heading back across goal the only option. Why??

It's becoming a bit predictable and it's very hard to score from directly.

I think our full backs need to improve their crossing. We had loads against Cardiff that were cleared or just over hit. Low crossing isna good shout though. I think the movement of Sharp and Lee will make us more dangerous from our crossing. Lambert is dangerous at the far post too to either head it across or knock it in. Our full backs do need to improve their crossing though, especially Richardson.

I suggest you check the assists table my friend.

As for low crosses - we actually did get a few in, but when you're playing the diamond formation (as we were for most of the game) it's difficult to get someone to the byline as it's generally only the full-back running down the wing, and they're A) knackered after sprinting all that way and B) reluctant to give the ball away whilst behind the opposition goal as they are then ridiculously out of position as defenders.

Fox has a great cross but doesn't advance up the pitch enough when we attack to actually use it!

Yes and this makes it difficult for Lallana to play with him as it leaves two defenders on Lallana with them not having to cover Fox which is why Lallana always performs better with Harding in the team attacking on the overlap and leaving Lallana with just the one guy to beat...........
