CLOTH EARS Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 MP Penny Mardaunt asked a question of the PM and the PM briefly mentions the Saints Pompey rivalry. http://audioboo.fm/boos/648732-prime-minister-david-cameron-backs-calls-for-hmrc-to-thrash-things-out-with-pompey#t=0m0s
Pancake Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 If only there was a thread to discuss PFC and their financial situation...
Saint_Jonny Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 I didn't vote for the ****** so its ALL YOUR FAULT!!
the wedge Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 'Friendly rivalry...' The last time I went to the derby I was attacked with a slab of concrete. As if I needed more ammo against Cameron.
saintmatt Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 Why does he agree that HMRC should meet with them!? If a company doesn't pay its taxes it should be subject to a winding up order! Cameron sending out the wrong message there I'm afraid
dronskisaint Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 If only there was a thread to discuss PFC and their financial situation...
gaz Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 I gather there's a thread discussing Pompey and their financial situation.
David Strover Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 Perhaps I'm being vindictive by can anyone who knows better and more than me (most of you) tell me why the Football League have done nothing and why this club have not be docked any ****ing points. They couldn't wait to hammer Luton Town into the ground, Bournemouth and too a lesser extent us so what is different about this? It is PFC that are subject of a winding up order and it is PFC who haven't paid their tax bill. I really don't understand.

Topcat Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 Re-posted what I placed on the Lounge/takeover thread. Just imagine if Saints supporters did the right thing for Portsmouth and decided to raise money for their Club or its rebirth? Gone at a stroke would be the years of bitter animosity. In one single act the prestige of Saints would also jump up. Because they are down is the time for some Saints samaritans. Are we not big enough to do the right thing?

Wiggles31 Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 The thought of that Tory kn0bber mentioning us makes me feel sick.

Seriously, you need to have a read of the takeover thread. This isn't a club that has mistakenly fallen on hard times. This is a club that has gone out of its way to cheat & gain an unfair advantage over all the other clubs its competing against. Then, when caught red handed, they've carried on doing the same thing again. The right thing would be to put them out of business, I'd certainly help do that if I can!
hasper57saint Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 OK what have we done to deserve this? I can't stand the pillock. Perhaps Dune can rustle up some support for his idol? Pompey are in a complete mess and should be docked points just like we were. Is there some reference to 'Tax Avoidance' here?

If only there was a thread to discuss PFC and their financial situation... Good point. You would think there would be more discussion on this subject. It's all well and good having the P*mpey takeover thread, I genuinely do see its merits. However, some of us don't have the time to keep up with it (and believe me I tried a few weeks ago) so appreciate the occasional update on the main board. I may not have found out about this otherwise, and in turn not emailed number 10 about what was said. So leave out the clever comments Edited 1 February, 2012 by saintmatt

corsacar saint Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 That prat Cameron, has as much knowledge on football,as he does running this country, which should be his overriding concern. I did not vote for the tories either, never have and never will, not even if they were the only party in the country, hate them. As much as I think we need the rivalry, what other business with original debts of 140,000000 pounds would or should survive. Our debts of the mortgage of the stadium, pale into insignifance against that vast ammount.
Surman4no7shirt Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 He knows quite a few people who are Pompey fans he says. Explains a lot. What a f****** ****** that man is.
RobM Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 I was fairly neutral about him until today, but he should know better than to get involved in football rivalry.

I genuinely have no idea how they havent been deducted points. Thing is, I really don't think they are going to be in the future either....WTF?????
Jonnyboy Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 Disgusting that they've managed to crawl into our House of Commons for sympathy and even worse that condom head bothered answering.

That worked out well.
Dr Who? Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 And so are his mates! They broke th rules and they should be treated like any other business that is run badly and illegally!

dubai_phil Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 Forgetting Political views for a moment. Can anyone ever remember an acting PM actually mentioning US in Parliament before today? Other than that. Wish there was somewhere I could post my opinions about the financial situation down the road though
Matthew Le God Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 They even felt the need to report the PMQ's story on their official website. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Prime-Minister-Backs-Blues-Survival-Bid-3077.aspx I wonder what those dealing with them at HMRC think of all this? Hopefully it hardens their resolve.

They'd hate us even more for saving them. Look at the nastiness that comes from Bournemouth fans whenever we go near them, and we've propped them up loads of times.
LostBoys Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Message sent to the PM not to try and usurp the HMRC legal processes.
LostBoys Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 I have also emailed the Football League about taking action - and we know how far that will get us

Saint137 Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Reckon he only said it cos he fancies Ms Mordaunt. More seriously, he really shouldn't be trying to influence due legal process.
Noodles34 Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 John Denham sits in front of me at SMS, think i might tell him to get off his seat next time some Tory squeal bleats about 'poor old Pompey' and remind 'The House' what they are there for and what The HMRC are there for!
jjsaint Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Maybe government interference in football needs reporting to FIFA...
adrian lord Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Why is there so much official sympathy for the cheating, tax-avoiding scumbags? Maybe it's because MPs are of the same ilk? If any of us didn't pay our taxes we'd get short shrift from HMRC and no support from Cameron et al....
pingwing Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Thought it would be good to fire off an email to my local MP as she's a tory and point out a few of the ironies of the blokes speech. That and point out why he felt it necessary to save pomp by left Plymouth slide or the list of non-league teams being hammered for a few grand. (Darlington, Kettering, St Albans City and so on)
ericb Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 So a vote for the tories is a vote for pompey is it? Oh well guess we just need to say **** you to the tories then
jjsaint Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 I'd still shaaaag her... I think there may be a queue forming. Love your avatar btw!
Secret Site Agent Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 They even felt the need to report the PMQ's story on their official website. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Prime-Minister-Backs-Blues-Survival-Bid-3077.aspx I wonder what those dealing with them at HMRC think of all this? Gingeletiss Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Maybe government interference in football needs reporting to FIFA... Seems yet another MP, Damian Collins, is determined to stick his nose into football........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16846990
once_bitterne Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Wonder if Skate Fred's MP daughter had a word with Dave...
bender Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 and I voted for Cameron. How dare he encourage the survival of P**pey. Judas!
Jones91 Posted 2 February, 2012 Posted 2 February, 2012 Mods, can we not just move the other thread here for a while (as its so active). Getting on my ti.ts flicking between here and the lounge...
