James Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Will be annoyed if Connolly does start over Sharp, he was pants against Leicester and Cardiff and has a tendency to go missing in tough away games.
Wade Garrett Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Good to see Adkins keeping faith in Connolly. Sharp, if/when required, will come off the bench very hungry to prove he should be starting ahead of Connolly. And Connolly will be busting a gut to prove the opposite. Clever man management from Adkins. Would have been so easy to have pandered to the obvious clamour to start Sharp. Birmingham will also have assumed that Sharp would start, so puts them on the back foot a little (tactically). IMHO of course... Why don't we really put them on the back foot by not starting Lambert! I'm afraid I don't agree with your argument.
Um Bongo Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/content/webcams/bullring_outside_webcam.shtml Looks snowy.
doggface Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Connolly is off form so would rather sharp started. However on this site people are always saying when he scores that Connolly is our best striker when fit. Now he is a liability?!? Make ur minds up ffs
trousers Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Why don't we really put them on the back foot by not starting Lambert! I'm afraid I don't agree with your argument. That's fine. Life's a cauldron of opinions.

Birmingham will also have assumed that Sharp would start, so puts them on the back foot a little (tactically). IMHO of course... He didnt bust a gut the other night knowing we had Lee on the bench (who did more in his 30mins than Connolly did in 80) and Sharp who couldn't be in the side. DC should not make the bench today, it should look like... Bart, Harding, Hammond/Morgan, Lee, Chappers/Guly/SDR or Falque. Sharp must start and Lee looks like he has a lot to give the team, if fit, Chappers and who ever does not start out of Deano & Morgan will always make the bench + DC has done very little recently.
Leicestersaint Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Agree, and not on a frozen pitch IMHO. I thought they had under pitch heating??
Window Cleaner Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Zigic not starting not on bench either

trousers Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Cant believe Sharp isn't starting! I can. Good move by Adkins IMO
S-Clarke Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 No Lee on the bench, weird. Another v good call by THEVMAN.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 No space for Lee cos of 5 subs! Bart, Harding, Hammond, Guly, Sharp Stronger than last few weeks!
Window Cleaner Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Tadanari Lee not in squad not enough place for everyone, he'll get a game on Tuesday I expect.
S-Clarke Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 TBF Lee did get clattered quite badly in the game on Tuesday, might have a little knock!
BILLY Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 I can. Good move by Adkins IMO Why is it a good move? What's the point in signing the guy and then not starting him?
THEVMAN Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 @jordansibley: Saints Vs Birmingham. Davis. Richardson, Fonte©, Martin, Fox. Puncheon, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lallana. Connolly, Lambert. #saintsfc I've worked it out....THEVMAN is Nigel AdkinsYou`ve found me out you bastard
Saint Charlie Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Adkins is going to have tough calls to make once Chaplow is back. Some bloody good players won't even get on the bench like today. Would have Guly over Lee whilst he settles in.
trousers Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Why is it a good move? What's the point in signing the guy and then not starting him? I explained my logic earlier in the thread. It may turn out to be the right move or it may turn out to be wrong. Maybe we should wait until the end of the game to judge? Call me old fashioned.
Chez Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Zidic won't play. They will play Rooney and King.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 FFS Connelly has been sh*t the last few weeks. Should have just chucked Billy straight in.
St.Jeweller Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Puncheon seems to be guaranteed a starting place all of the sudden!!
S-Clarke Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Puncheon seems to be guaranteed a starting place all of the sudden!! Who else plays there...? De Ridder is out, Chaplow is out, Guly not 100%. He's our only wide right player at the mo, and at least it stops us from playing 3cms.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Puncheon seems to be guaranteed a starting place all of the sudden!! maybe cos he's a good player
vince Posted 4 February, 2012 Author Posted 4 February, 2012 You`ve found me out you bastard Nige, pull up the current league table on your iphone and show it to the starting XI, ta. :^)
Saint Charlie Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 He was great v Cardiff so deserves to play!
captainchris Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Really cannot believe Connolly is playing again, he has been dreadful for weeks........................Would have liked to see Hammond in today too personally.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Who else plays there...? De Ridder is out, Chaplow is out, Guly not 100%. He's our only wide right player at the mo, and at least it stops us from playing 3cms. I think de Ridder is available but not being selected.
once_bitterne Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Who else plays there...? De Ridder is out, Chaplow is out, Guly not 100%. He's our only wide right player at the mo, and at least it stops us from playing 3cms. De Ridderv is fit. Confirmed on his twitter.
ericofarabia Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 You`ve found me out you bastard Sneaking on here to find out the best line up / tactics from our panel of experts - obvious
Saint Charlie Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Connolly was our best player away at Forest. Sharp only had one training session with the squad.
DrunkenSaint Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 FFS NA what the hell are u playing at DC did F'all on Tuesday night, Guly is crap i would prefer Lee on the bench as he's determined and has the pace we miss so much.
Dr Who? Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Nor Chun Lee even on the Bench! To lightweight lol
Chez Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 I know Connelly was poor in the last two games but he was pretty damn good at Forest
Dr Who? Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 I cannot see anything but a defeat today.... Unless it really chucks it down with the white stuff!
BILLY Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Connolly was our best player away at Forest. Sharp only had one training session with the squad. Trained more then once with the squad, NA said on Saints Player on Thurs that Sharp had trained "again" with the team. Signed on Monday, nearly played on Tue night as well. Connolly has been off the boil for ages.
Saint_Jonny Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 I know Connelly was poor in the last two games but he was pretty damn good at Forest This. Still got a good feeling about this game, reckon we'll win! COYR
trousers Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 I know Connelly was poor in the last two games but he was pretty damn good at Forest Look, I know you mean well but please can you pack up your pragmatism and take it elsewhere. It's simply not in keeping with the perceived alternative wisdom on here.
BILLY Posted 4 February, 2012 Posted 4 February, 2012 Blackpool have scored 1-1 back into second place
