for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Don't see the point in getting into mud slinging arguments about attendance, it's not as if the people arguing have any influence on their club's overall attendances. With regards to the game, I think we fans and more importantly Adkins and the players should assume Birmingham have their strongest team available. We all remember what happened when we went away to injury struck Cardiff and Brighton.
Jack Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Always had a dislike for Birmingham. They get **** attendances until the last few games of a promotion campaign then sell out for the last few games. They then sell out for a few games in the Prem till they lose a few, then stop going again. That's what I remember of their last promotion anyway. Also I find the brum accent very irritating. You could be the most intelligent person in the world, but still sound absolutely stupid with a Birmingham accent.

Saint Garrett Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Birmingham mocking other teams home support is hilarious, their attendances are very poor. Imagine they saw our terrible crowd against Leicester the other day and that just sticks in their memory. The one memory that has stuck with me is the thousands of empty seats at St. Andrews when they played Villa... And Wolves...Derby match ??? Window Cleaner Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 This. Pretty sure we also recently beat Forest with Morgan playing. Didn't he score? Ottery, I wouldn't write someone's opinion off as ridiculous unless it was factually incorrect. To say we never win with Morgan in the side WAS a ridiculous comment And Brighton away, we were great when Morgan was suspended there weren't we....oh right, abysmal yep that's a a synonyme for great isn't it. Anyway to all the Hammond fanciers; get over it, Cork,Morgan,Punch,Lallana will be our midfield at Birmingham. Chappers may be on the bench to sub for Punch when he runs out of steam because of lack of match time.

We do win sometimes:D Apologies you supporters of the world class lad.. If he is in the side against Brum......we should win:) Come on Morgan..pull your finger out and help us win more games...Wenger is still watching you.. I am sure you and Nigel know best........ Morgan was pants the other night although Cork wasn't much better. Earlier in the Season Adkins rotated these three in that each would typically play two games then sit one out. I expect midfield to be Hammond, Cork, Puncheon and Lallana

Wiggles31 Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 For me I would go: Davis Richardson Martin Fonte Fox Puncheon Hammond Cork Lallana Lambert Sharp You’ve got to give a debut to Sharp for me. Then I would bring Chaplow for Puncheon mid-way through the 2nd half as he is still restoring match fitness and consider bringing on either Guly or Lee for one of the forwards if extra spice is needed. I also felt that putting Lallana and Puncheon in the centre was effective against Cardiff so Adkins could perhaps tinker with that in the game. Burke is a player we need to keep an eye on for them though. Class player. Also Martin will need to be on his guard against Zigic. He did well against Henderson who is also a giant! donecj123 Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 that is a very good price, i have watched quite a few of their Europa league games and they are a very good side, they gave Braga a hell of a game away from home and we will do very well to get a point there. I think they will go up automatically, but find it strange the arrest of their owner for money laundering hasn't effected the club that much, was hoping they would lose a lot more players. I am pleased they are still in the FA Cup with a tough game at Chelsea, we need them to have a couple of defeats to get them out if this winning run , hopefully the huge number of games they are having to play this season will catch up with them Have you lost the plot? Im a Birmingham fan (and yes, should be a good match saturday...), just wanted to clear a few points up: 1) yes our home support is lacking somewhat should we say 2) Zigic IS fit (come on bag another 4 son!) and 3..... 3) You hoped we would lose a lot more players?!?! heres the list: - Ridgewell - Beasejour - Jermone - Dann - Michel - Ferguson - Foster - Phillips - Johnson - Bowyer - Larsson - Gardener - McFadden - Taylor How many more exactly would you like to leave? And given the situation at the club I think Houghton has performed miracles as many predicted a midtable finish AT BEST, with jut a team of youth, loans and frees (bar Murphy, Zigic and Fahey the survivors) Good luck for sat KRO! The Cat Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Really really excited to finally see Billy Sharp in a Saints shirt. Last night I had a dream I was playing for Saints. (Is there a better dream to have?) Ball played through the between CB and LB, I raced to the byline, cut it back to Sharp who promptly hit a weak shot straight at the keeper. Fortunately Lambert followed up and banged it home. During the celebration I ruffled Sharp's hair and told him I thought he was supposed to be an expert finisher. Maybe this will happen on Saturday, although it does mean Adkins will have to pick me at right midfield.

Last night I dreamed that I came home Saturday morning and my missus was there in all the gear, the kids had been packed off for the day and she'd invited around another mum from school (fit as feck) and said 'we're yours, start where you like, do what you want, no questions, no arguments and afterwards we'll clean up while you go down the pub to watch the Birmingham game'. Great to know that when this does happen, you'll come on to set up the winning goal!

That would be the best dream ever if it had led into mine and instead of going to the pub to watch the match you ended up playing in it. Not sure you'd have been left with the energy levels to get to the ball and cross it in before it reached the byline after your morning exploits though, so best we leave it how it was. Saint Charlie Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Think its vital we play a normal 4-4-2 and not the diamond. Their man threat is Zigic in the air so we need to stop crosses. The diamond is narrow and gives opposition full backs too much space to whip balls in. From what Ive seen of them if we stop this and defend crosses well then we have a good chance. Fox will have to deal with Burke well.

Tamesaint Posted 2 February, 2012 Share Posted 2 February, 2012 Went to StAndrews to see Saints v Brum back in the mid '80's.It was the last match of the season and whilst we were in the top half of the table, Brum needed to avoid defeat to ensure they stayed up. My then brotheer inlaw was a Brum season ticket holder and I went with him and his mates. Saints ended up winning and Brum were relegated. The journey home was not a happy one!! I would say a high chance, we're preparing to batten down the hatches here in Coventry, Snow is expected Saturday morning and when it happens around here it's pandemonium (confused locals staring at the sky etc). Hope it does go ahead though, I've got a ticket for this one. Hopefully the pressures of Sky will see it on as planned.
