Colinjb Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 As discussed. "Lallana is making Saints tick" - Dave Merrington. That'll do for me.

sfc4prem Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Just coming back from SMS, Puncheon gets my vote, especially considering he is just back from a massive period of not playing.
madruss Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Puncheon first half, cork second half, with lallana a close second behind cork
paulsfc Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Apparently i'm the only one (so far) who thought Lambert was excellent. All round play was superb. Lallana was very good and full of tricks, but indecisive at times Cork as always was full of energy. Puncheon was excellent for his 60 mins, excellent touch, won the ball back, got a lot of forward momentum off of him. Looks very good for the run in

S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Lambert was excellent, and so was Lallana - both were important in our attacking endevour.# Lallana needs to pass quicker though....took a few too many touches for me, when it was better to either shoot or release. SO16_Saint Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Punch for me. He was outstanding first half, all over the pitch, tracking back, the works.
Colinjb Posted 31 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Fair play to the guys that went, delighted to hear that Punch had a blinder.
Jack Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Lambert for me. Absolutely terrorised their defence. Very good performances from Lallana, Punch, and Fonte. Morgan's radar was seriously off today. Too many attempts at the 50 yard diagonal, most went for throw ins or straight to Cardiff players. Needs to play the easy pass more if unsure. Yeah, Morgan had one of those ''hollywood'' games. Gave the ball away too much too. That was our problem in the first half, no rhythm in the middle of the park. That changed when Adkins employed the diamond and stuck Lalalna at the tip. Totally different team from there on in.
SuperMikey Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Cork for me, buzzed around and dominated the midfield. Punch and Lambert were excellent as well.
pingwing Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 Punch had a really really good 60 mins, hope he can get fit and do it for 90 with that level of commitment. Had to go to Martin today though, with game time he is coming on very well and really looked assured at the back (just what we needed)
Noodles34 Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 Lambert, without a doubt, showed exactly what we were missing against Leicester. I really think he has come on so much as a 'footballer' in the last two years, and last night i thought (for the first time), this guy could play in the PL. Puncheon was alright, but he (and others, Connelly and Lallana) fail to take any responsibility in front of goal, could have made a difference. Toomer Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 Punch for me looks to have put his problems behind him, long may it last.
Leicestersaint Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 Well done Puncheon. Good play by Lambert, Lallana and Cork - but I wish Jack would put on a bit of weight!
The9 Posted 1 February, 2012 Share Posted 1 February, 2012 Fonte for me, we looked SO much more capable of keeping the ball and therefore building on possession with him there to hold it all together at the back. We went backwards, reorganised and still kept possession in both halves. If we'd managed to get something on the end of one of his crosses, I'd have gone for Richardson, his availability down the right is still key.
