Sharp available tonight?!

It just goes to show how ridiculous the rules are that if we'd signed him on loan this morning, he would have been available tonight

Similar to what Boro did for Jutkiewicz?

I reckon Sharp will make an appearance on the pitch tonight, but we have enough firepower without him to get past Cardiff.

That might be true, but do we have enough central defenders? still think we will win 3-2 though.

It would be asking a lot for him to slot into the team immediately. He won't have trained much with the others and it will take him a few sessions to establish working partnerships.
This, I'd prefer to see Lee out there tonight than Sharp

Eh? He wouldn't? There's some signings that needed to happen today by lunchtime in order for them to be available to play in tomorrow nights game...

Also, the Echo appear to think that Sharp will be available for the FA Cup replay next Tuesday - that's not right is it? Surely he had to be available for the initial game to be available for a replay?

Steve is correct. For permanent signings it's midday the day before, but for loans it 4 hours! That's why Delfouso signed on loan from Villa to Leicester last Monday morning and was on the bench for them for the game against us in the evening.

I have a feeling that Boro exploited this in their signing of Jukevitz.

Correct. The Echo have ballsed up there.

They did, doing it that way also allowed Coventry to prevent Jutkiewicz from playing against them last week. As he was on loan at the time, he was ineligible to play against his parent club. Boro were happy to allow that to happen in exchange for getting him in time to face Burnley the game before, not that it made any difference as they ended up losing both games
