Sparky_Mark Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Haven't seen it posted anywhere, just wondering if Sharp was available tonight? Would be massive having him and Rickie up top, compared to how we performed attacking wise against Leicester this could be the partnership to fire us clear at the top!
patred44 Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 what time was he signed.. fact is none of us know! and nor does Cardiff City, a situation that Nigel Adkins will love to play on;)
This Charming Man Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 what time was he signed.. fact is none of us know! and nor does Cardiff City, a situation that Nigel Adkins will love to play on;) He's not available.
Sparky_Mark Posted 31 January, 2012 Author Posted 31 January, 2012 If the echo says no, he must be available then...
Dig Dig Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Sharp said he was signed past the midday deadline yesterday
stevegrant Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 It just goes to show how ridiculous the rules are that if we'd signed him on loan this morning, he would have been available tonight
SNSUN Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 It just goes to show how ridiculous the rules are that if we'd signed him on loan this morning, he would have been available tonight Similar to what Boro did for Jutkiewicz? I reckon Sharp will make an appearance on the pitch tonight, but we have enough firepower without him to get past Cardiff.

That might be true, but do we have enough central defenders? still think we will win 3-2 though.
Whitey Grandad Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 It would be asking a lot for him to slot into the team immediately. He won't have trained much with the others and it will take him a few sessions to establish working partnerships.

SNSUN Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 That might be true, but do we have enough central defenders? still think we will win 3-2 though. Fonte's back apparently, so Fonte and Martin should do just fine.
sfc4prem Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Properly looking forward to this with Lambert back. Such a key threat for us. Hopefully people around me actually sing/support today and get behind the lads. This is a team effort, and as fans we are a part of that team. COYS
sandwichsaint Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 The last person I saw paraded on the pitch (or at least in the directors' box) was Delgado. Saints 3 Ipswich 3, Strachen's first game.

VectisSaint Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Even if he was available it would be daft playing him (or at least starting him) when he hasn't even trained with the squad. We have 5 other good strikers available, all of whom will be desparate to make sure they stay in the team when Billy is available.
Tractor_Saint Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 It just goes to show how ridiculous the rules are that if we'd signed him on loan this morning, he would have been available tonight Eh? He wouldn't? There's some signings that needed to happen today by lunchtime in order for them to be available to play in tomorrow nights game... Also, the Echo appear to think that Sharp will be available for the FA Cup replay next Tuesday - that's not right is it? Surely he had to be available for the initial game to be available for a replay?

That's why Delfouso signed on loan from Villa to Leicester last Monday morning and was on the bench for them for the game against us in the evening. I have a feeling that Boro exploited this in their signing of Jukevitz.

Surely he had to be available for the initial game to be available for a replay? Correct. The Echo have ballsed up there. I have a feeling that Boro exploited this in their signing of Jukevitz. They did, doing it that way also allowed Coventry to prevent Jutkiewicz from playing against them last week. As he was on loan at the time, he was ineligible to play against his parent club. Boro were happy to allow that to happen in exchange for getting him in time to face Burnley the game before, not that it made any difference as they ended up losing both games
Noodles34 Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Is Alpine not on here bemoaning NC for not completing the paperwork on time?
david in sweden Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Is Alpine not on here bemoaning NC for not completing the paperwork on time? Sssh! ...... maybe he's missed this thread.....
lillyflo Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Billy Sharp is tweeting his new team mates good luck tonight, so looks like it wasn't done in time as most people thought.
trousers Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 Billy Sharp is tweeting his new team mates good luck tonight, so looks like it wasn't done in time as most people thought. Stating he missed the deadline in last night's interview with TalkSport was probably more conclusive TBF...
