Sharp Signs on OS

Tell me is this the same sharp who:-

Took the French Imperial Eagle, at Talavera ?

Killed three French draggons in the saddle and saved Wellingtons life ?

Successfully assaulting the central breach at Badajoz ?

Took command of a regiment driving off the advance of the French Imperial Guard at the Battle of Waterloo?

No, but I saw a documentary about him scoring for Sheffield United against Manchester United in a cup tie. He had to go through a rather tacked on romantic sub plot and tragic family loss beforehand though.

One further thought, it's a damn shame we don't have the allowance of 7 subs anymore.

Depending on tactics & who's already on the field, we could have any of Puncheon, De Ridder, Sharp, Lee, Barnard, Connolly, Chaplow, Cork, Lallana or Falque from that list on the bench. Not a bad selection headache. Damn shame we only have 5, not 7, options. That's fire power!! Now just to band aid that defensive frailty.

As he's originally from Sheffield, I think it must be.

Can we then call the midfield 'His Chosen Men'

Start calling Connely 'Harper'

And sing 'Over the hills.......' When he scores.

'Over the hills and far away

Through Fratton, Upton and Ashusrt Gate,

Nigel Command and we obey,

Rickie and Billy scoring again'

I'm steaming but having fun.

Great signing, I think I feel some ZZ Top coming on....

Striped shirt, new boots

He scores a go-al whenever he shoo-oots

Red socks, black shorts

He's a guy who knows his spor-or-orts

Defenders runnin' just as fast they can

'Cause every fan's crazy 'bout the Sharp best man.

Sounds like Tenpole Tudor, although its probably a bit deeper than that.

Sorry you've lost me - you're obviously a Sharp enthusiast, I'm only an occasional viewer. But think I get your drift on it.

Like the "I'm steaming but having fun" . Is that part of the song ?

Without sounding presumptious, of course it remains seven subs in the premier league... #chickencounting (as I think the kids do!)

"Sharp will tear you apart... again"

It could work

(obviously to sound of Love will tear us apart)

"And Sharp

Sharp will tear them apart.....again!"

Rinse and repeat.

Whatever song is chosen I just hope it isn't some boring **** like we have for De Ridder, Lallana and now Lee. Need to be more creative! :)

The song is from the TV series. And I'm a big Sharpie enthusiast.

And I really am steaming, and I am having fun. Just wanted you all to know. Been drinking Woo Woos in the local pub with an Italian man with a stutter, so had to be drunk to understand him.

one of the most enjoyable nights on saintweb for a while.

so much positivity and all the doom and gloom merchants either gagged or gone for a hike.

nice.

Presumably you don't mean me. For future discussions when people moan at me for being negative, note my highly positive reaction to this news- something that I have wanted for a while.

Billy Sharp quotes from Talksport

- Long Day

- Call this morning, talked to them, drove down, did medical

- Transfer going on since Summer

- Happy he has made right decision

- This is stage in my career to join Southampton

- Leicester had fee accepted, heart said Southampton

- Became a better player under Adkins, Saints a massive club

- Not available tomorrow as deal signed after noon

- Prepared for Saturday

- Looking forward to playing with Lambert [assumed he has not heard that RL is off to WHU]

- Fresh start, get football right and others will get property sorted for him
