Billy Sharp having medical???

I am wondering whether Lee Barnard might be part of the deal, going the other way. Doncaster are going to need a striker to replace Sharp so one of ours might end up there either on loan or part of the deal.

Only if he has the dreaded, Willie McKay as his agent. Donny are only buying his clients now. A bit like us in 2005 under Bagpuss. ;)

If all is finalised, what a window!!

So so grateful to cortese and the liebherrs. Remember all those years counting down till the window closes for fear of having our best players picked off at will, now we hope for it to last for hope of star name acquisitions!

So pleased right now.

Leicester signed Delfouneso just before 12pm on the day of the game against us, and he featured on the bench. Assuming we get this deal done by the same time then Shar could play tomorrow?

My reading of the FL rules says that we will have to sign him on loan first and then sign him on Transfer Forms after the match.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/section-6-players_2293633_2125731

40.1 A Registered Player is one who has signed an appropriate registration form or forms and/or contract (such signature to be witnessed by a second person) and whose registration has been approved by The League. No Player may play in any competition organised by The League unless and until his registration has been so approved.

...

40.2 Subject to Regulations 40.4 and 40.5, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his registration or the transfer of his registration (other than those referred to in Regulation 40.3) are received (including by facsimile) and found to be in order by the Executive by 12.00 noon on the day prior to the date of such match.

40.3 Subject to Regulations 40.4 and 40.5, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his Standard Loan, Emergency Loan, Youth Loan or Emergency Loan of a goalkeeper transfer are received (including by facsimile) and found to be in order by the Executive:

40.3.1 in respect of any fixture played on a weekday when the Office is normally open, at least three hours before the match; or

40.3.2 in respect of any other fixture:

(a) 12 noon on the day of the match; or

(b) at least three hours before the match, whichever is the earlier.

I still believe Lallana & Fonte would not be missed if someone came in with a bid for them.

BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD

It is believed that the two clubs have agreed a fee for the striker who now has to agree personal terms.

Rovers manager Dean Saunders said: "Obviously I'm disappointed to lose my top scorer and hopefully one day we'll be able to keep our better players.

"I wish him all the best, he's been brilliant for the club and for me. We have to move on now and the rest of the players in the squad should see this as an opportunity to step up.

"I now have to speak to the chairman to see if any of the money we get can be re-invested into the team."

We're still negotiating personal terms. Or at least, personal terms weren't agreed at 2.45pm this afternoon. May have changed since then, but on this occasion the medical has come before agreeing personal terms. Club are still confident (hence the medical), but nothing has been agreed with Sharp yet.

According to Sky, Donny and The Echo it has.

Yeah, i don't believe he ever wanted to come here. We wanted him - i have it on good authority that we were even granted permission to speak to the player in december. However, he didn't want to move all the way down to the south coast. Especially with everything that's happened in his personal life. Not surprised in the slightest that's he's going to Leicester. Closer to him than most of the other clubs after him, and they'll pay him more.

So you changed sources then?

Thank you. Is exactly what I heard from somewhere who works with the players. Hope we agree terms though.
