S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Leicester are in for Collins apparently. Maybe that's what killed it.
pingwing Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Schneiderlin? No the Forest bloke thankfully! He's a CB, they need 7 to try out the "wall of people" on the line tactic for the run in.... Sharp though would be very good news!
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 News just in on Southampton, we understand Billy Sharp is undergoing a medial at St Mary's. by Tweet me @skygraemebailey 1:23 PM
Stattmeister Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 short term CB loan to cover the returning fitness of Jos/Jaidi and Seaborne would ease my mind as well now - I think we could then say a very successful window!

iansums Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 News just in on Southampton, we understand Billy Sharp is undergoing a medial at St Mary's. by Tweet me @skygraemebailey 1:23 PM Medial, medial, he's got medial ligament damage?????
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 short term CB loan to cover the returning fitness of Jos/Jaidi and Seaborne would ease my mind as well now - I think we could then say a very successful window! Maybe that's what Adkins meant about the loan window, when quizzed after the Millwall game. He was referring to a loan CB rather than looking for loan striking reinforcements? To be honest, if Jose is fit for tomorrow then he Aaron Martin will probably be ok with Radhi on the bench and we could spend time getting the right loan in.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Dalek will never post again if confirmed! This would be the best news of the window
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Medial, medial, he's got medial ligament damage????? That's that knackered then! Unless we've got the doctor in who did Delgado's medical.
Chez Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 We did that for Gorrks and it bit us in the arse. We keep playing these games! Did it? If player A wants more than we think he is worth and we move onto player B, that is not playing games, its just looking after the clubs' finances. I hope NC keeps playing that game.

If we are going to try and pass it out from the back that doesn't half help. Martin looked terribly uncomfortable when having to make clearances down that side. he has absolutely no left foot.
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 bigadamsport Adam Blackmore No comment from #saints boss Nigel Adkins about signings - but he did say Danny Collins was not at training ground bigadamsport Adam Blackmore @ Can't blame the clubs for not talking, so much at stake - I now have doubts about #saintsfc completing Collins deal - it's quiet!

trousers Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 nigel davies @NigelDaviesWHU Billy Sharp to Southampton. Another one bites the dust!
Pilchards Posted 30 January, 2012 Author Posted 30 January, 2012 To all those people that said he would not come down here, I put it on record that Saints was his no 1 choice and he would love to sign for us if we agreed his wage demands of 20k a week. We spoke to him a week before Xmas alongside Maynard but they both wanted too much at the time, this is why it was reported after Xmas Saints are not interested in the pair. I expect we have finally given up with Hooper and gone with our 2nd choice Sharp. If you want to give credit to the guy who got Sharp down here then step forward James Beattie.
Big Bad Bob Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 And how long have you been storing that one up for??
Appy Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Personal terms done and dusted according to SSN.

Pilchards Posted 30 January, 2012 Author Posted 30 January, 2012 Please explan the Beattie comment Beattie hassled him to join us, they are the best of mates from the Sheff days. My only fproblem is Beattie has promised to show him the true nightlights of Bournemouth.

SNSUN Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 So Leicester are looking to sign Danny Collins as we've missed out on him but we're about to sign Billy Sharp. I'd have taken that result at the start of yesterday! I take it we'll still be looking for CB coverage but in the emergency loan window. Good of Saints to do some business late on in the window - I thought nothing would happen.
LatvianTolix Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Not opening for me!!!! Who is there posted???
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Our forward line could be Lee Sharp. A worrying thought. Or we could have a front 3 of Lee Barnard Sharp. Now that would be fun for commentators.
trousers Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Our forward line could be Lee Sharp. A worrying thought. Or Billy Connolly....
Big Bad Bob Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Our forward line could be Lee Sharp. A worrying thought. Class player in his time, not quite sure when his time was though. Corner flags around the country used to quake in case he scored....
Saint Billy Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Anyone got a rough idea how much we are paying for Sharp, will we be breaking the club record?
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Anyone got a rough idea how much we are paying for Sharp, will we be breaking the club record? No where near. £1.8m hits his release clause.
Minty Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Anyone got a rough idea how much we are paying for Sharp, will we be breaking the club record? Newspaper article yesterday or Saturday specifically had a quote from someone at Donny stating that if someone came in with a bid of £1.75m (I think) then they would give permission to talk...
Saint Billy Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 No where near. £1.8m hits his release clause. Even better then considering how much we were looking to pay for Hooper.
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Even better then considering how much we were looking to pay for Hooper. Yep, exactly. Tremendous value for money and makes me wonder why we seemed determined to splash out £6m on a similar player.
Avenue Saint Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Hooper is a better player imo Hopefully we'll get to find out.
derry Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Yep, exactly. Tremendous value for money and makes me wonder why we seemed determined to splash out £6m on a similar player. The Doncaster Chairman was quoted in early December when this £1.85m contract release fee was put about that the CRF was £3m as from 1st Jan 2012.
trousers Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Seems a strange one: Sky Sports @SkySports Sky Sports understands Bournemouth are poised to sign Crawley Town striker Matt Tubbs. #AFCB #CTFC bit.ly/ycLeRA
