Avenue Saint Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Regardless of the result on Tuesday I think this is a defining week in terms of showing not only our intent, but our ability to attract talent to the Saints project. Sharp could have moved closer to home and for more money, under a good manager yet chose to join us. Four points from next two games and I think the boat is back on the water. Spot on!
Dr Who? Posted 30 January, 2012 Posted 30 January, 2012 Nope, still think we could lose tomorrow and on Saturday and still have plenty of time/games to put it right and go up. Ok we might not win the league, but 2nd spot will do. Saying that I think we will win tomorrow and lose on Saturday.
westofshannonsaint Posted 31 January, 2012 Posted 31 January, 2012 If we can get our 'A' team back from injuries then we can expect a run of results similar to the first three months of the season and the points table will take care of itself, no matter what the results are this week. This, even if we do drop out of the top two; there is nothing to say that when we get our new improved first 11 playing together we won't get back in an auto spot. In fact not having the "league leaders" tag may help us - teams may open up more & allow us play football. I think if we sign a decent defender tomorrow, were looking good for promotion this season, regardless of results this week.
View From The Top Posted 1 February, 2012 Author Posted 1 February, 2012 So far, so good. An excellent signing in Sharp and a 2nd half performance which suggests we've got our mojo back. If I'm honest I'm still expecting a defeat on Saturday but I certainly feel that it's now moved from "vital" to "important". All, of course, IMHO.
doddisalegend Posted 1 February, 2012 Posted 1 February, 2012 If we draw with West sham and Birmingham we will have taken fours points off both of them over the season ....pretty acceptable to me and important in the scheme of things. Being saints I expect us to do quite well againt WHU and Brum becuase we seem to raise our game for the big sides (remember Norwich two seasons ago) ...it's against the little teams like Donny ,Brizzle and Leicester we seem to struggle

I do agree with the general point though. I'm always more confident with us going into a game with a good team, who are playing well. It will not be as cut and dried as many are saying.

Sorry jokes don't always work well on t'net I was just taking a cheap shot at Leicester......all that money and still a bit crap......except when playing us of course
View From The Top Posted 4 February, 2012 Author Posted 4 February, 2012 Well, it turned out pretty well I'd say.
