Saint Charlie Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Wonder if Barney will go on loan somewhere for a month? He will probably not get much game time in the near future so might be a good option to get him firing? Maybe a decent league one team?
S-Clarke Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 From what I was told, that was the plan. So I was surprised to see him back playing for us today! I think we're keen to get him some serious game time for a short term. - then we potentially get a fit and in-form confident goal scorer back for the final 8 weeks. Maybe clubs wanted to see him in action given his injury problems and recent return, before making a decision on a loan.

St Chalet Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Smart move to cup tie him if that's the plan. I can see that for Champions League, would imagine whoever (if) we loan him to would have been out of the cup many moons ago.
Matthew Le God Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Smart move to cup tie him if that's the plan. Not many teams left in the cup, and if the team(s) that want to see him play aren't involved anymore then why does it matter if he is cup tied? Saint Charlie Posted 28 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Not many L1 sides left in the cup though, plus we might need him in the final

Lighthouse Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Smart move to cup tie him if that's the plan. 1. Nobody actually gives a crap about the FA really. A cup run is nice, but you wouldn't turn down a signing because he is cup tied. 2. As far as I can tell there will be 2 teams from League 1 or below in the 5th round. Stevenage and Crawley. So even if everyone does care, it's only those 2 teams (and Wednesday who have a replay). Edit: serves me right for going to get some food half way through that post. Appy Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 A loan spell is exactly what he needs. If he can hit the form of last season in the run in, it could be key for us.
St.Patrik Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Wasn´t is someone that said here earlier that he will go to Oxford something on loan for a couple of months? They are not in the FA cup I suppose?
SNSUN Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Lee is a good player, and when fit he will prove it. A month loan to gain fitness is a good idea though, as long as he can be recalled if needed.

No lower then League 1 level would be right for Lee. A Brentford, Yeovil, or heaven forbid at the Cherries would do him just right to get sharp again. Even somewhere like Coventry would be right, won't harm us in the short term and can be recalled, if he gets back to form he would do our rivals damage too. Coventry would be a good shout...they're not going to get anywhere near us and Barny can dent a few of our rivals' hopes
Cestrian Saint Posted 30 January, 2012 Share Posted 30 January, 2012 Always liked Barnard. Be a shame to see him sold off as I think he's still got something to offer. A loan would be a great way of building confidence & getting him back up to speed following injury.
James Posted 31 January, 2012 Share Posted 31 January, 2012 Why not loan Barnard to Donny? They'll need a striker and he needs games...cant help but think he'll have limited chances now what with Sharp, Lee, Lambert, Guly and Connolly in front of him at the moment. I'm not so sure they are ahead of him so much as he hasn't been fit. It's quite confusing why so many people think Barnard is out of favour and not up to the task. He could be Adkins first name on the team sheet (he's not) and still wouldn't have been in the squad this season. If we have to get rid of anyone, for me it would have to be Connolly. Very much a fair weather friend; great when we're playing brilliantly, but otherwise not that effective. If you don't believe me, name a game he scored in when haven't been playing well. A trip to Gillingham 2 years ago is the only one I can think of.
