Worst away support in a while.

"I'm forever blowing bubbles" What the f*ck is wrong with some of you?

All we could come of for Lee was "LEEEEE" like we do "STEEEEVE" for De Ridder. Getting fed up of being stood around a bunch of statues at away games now.

I agree but what can we do about it? Until someone takes the 'bull by the horns' we're stuck with a bunch of mongs. For example the "You're just a small town in West Ham" mongloids while we were waiting to be let out.

it is true we have been quiet and today was really bad, i did hear a few fans singing a song about lee which must be learnt by everybody.

Lee Lee

where ever you may be

you eat dog in your home country

but it could be worse you could be a skate

****ging your mum on a council estate.

Probably expectation has something do with it. I started a thread for something for the Pompey game, really though it was just trying to start getting soem ideas banded around how we can make the support a bit better and a bit more interesting.

As a collective there is plenty that can be done as deomonstrated at many clubs, without copying them.

The Cardiff game, will hopefully get the noise levels up at SMS though

I find our support is becoming more and more embarrassing.

Firstly we were f*cking quiet, and rarely did anything get going.

Then you have the all round cringeyness.

I'm forever blowing bubbles- why?! Then doing the whole 'United United' thing at the end as if they're on Green Street. I'd like to ask those who sing it- do you find it either offensive/funny when teams sing Play up Pompey to us? No it f*cking pathetic.

Then you get the ever increasing brigade of people who only seem to perk up and sing if its aimed at the opposing fans.

Today's witty highlights include, 'Your support is f*cking sh*t (when they'd been better than us), the thing that always amuses me about this one- is the people who sing it always seem to be the zombie types who never make an effort to get behind the team. Shall we sing a song for you, and who are ya also had me in stitches for the sheer originality and humour.

Our new theme song seems to be 'der der der f*cking useless'. WHY!? Its getting sung more and more, and today i even heard it being sung at our own players missing a chance (when we were 1-0 up for f*cks sake).

Say what you will about the away support but at least it gives credit where its due and shows a bit of restraint. By contrast, SMS always seems ready to get on some player's back. Generally, you see less ignorance and abuse meted out by our away supporters.

Agree with that. Glad Puncheon got to start his first game back away from home as he'd probably have got some abuse from the more dim of our fans.

It was terrible today though especially as it's a good ground for making a noise. Millwall were loud and they hardly had any fans there.

Another song stolen off Man U.

Reading this thread is there any song that can be sung?

Noise is noise and the biggest problem isn't what is sung, but the fact that our away support is so quiet now. It used to be good when we had a smaller following because those who went then were passionate.

With the amount of people who complain about "everyone else" being stood around not singing you'd think the atmosphere would be decent just from them.

A few fans on an internet forum is hardly an accurate representation..

If only.

You would throw a wobbly (and rightly so) if someone used derogatory terms to describe coloured people, yet you freely use derogatory anti disabled terms. I agree with LGTL.

Anyone who even uses that word should be banned for life. Or executed.

It is hardly an original tune for a chant. Man Utd certainly aren't the first to use it.

Same tune, same lyrics just swap Park for Lee and Skate for scouse. Utd have been singing it for few years now. Shame we can't manage any original songs of our own

I always find some of the chants dated or embarrassing and feel we could do some much better. Watching the NRJ awards I saw a medley of songs by a female impersonator and came up with something that could really get everyone joining in and inspire the lads, Lots of clapping and simple words.

Firstly there is the opening of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance

Ooooh oooh oooh oooh ooooh

Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah! Nicola ah ah ah! Ricky-oh-la-la!

then follow this with the clap opening of Rihanna's "Only girl in the world

Clap clap clap clap clap clap ( as with fast hand clapping)

La la la la La la la la

La la la la

We love you Saints. Cos you're the only team in the world.

We love you Saints. You're the only team in the world

It could really make a huge effect and give the lads a boost.

Surely morgan is worthy of that song, could do something better for tadanari.

Morrrrgan

where ever you may be

you eat snail in your home country

but it could be worse you could be a skate

****ging your mum on a council estate.

Something really needs to be done about the support, i thought I came up with a start of song to agadoo (bare with me) just a few lines short of a good song

Southampton ton ton we're the best team in the land

Southampton ton ton Nigel Adkins is our man

......

I think the oooh Tadanari song (man city balotelli song) is a better more upbeat one than the one mentioned on this thread.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x60TCoiOxJg

Oooh Tadanari, he's a striker, he's from Japan

Scored a goal against the Aussies with a volley from a cross

Came to southampton to show that he's the boss...

OOoooh Tadanari

This was taking off some other thread, i think the words could be fine-tuned but it's a start. We need a few sheets printed and handed out at an away game (next saturday!?), just like with the Rickie Lambert song, our only slightly interesting song.

or for the more simple fans, to the harry and jim tune.

Tadanari is red and white (LEE)

Tadanari is red and white (LEE)

Obviously not the best, but something a bit different to our usual song.

orr to the ohh crouchy crouchy song

'Ohhhh Tadanari, He came from Japan

To eat your dog'

Few ideas that are genius is you ask me! haha the drink is kicking in.

Really? What the **** has it got to do with her?

Although slightly patronising I thought she almost hit the nail directly on the head:

"FOOTBALL and football fans never cease to amaze me.

Southampton lost at home in a shock result against Leicester City and got booed off the pitch. This is the same Saints side who are second in the league and just went on a lengthy unbeaten run, er, at home.

I know fans have to pay a lot more for watching their favourite team these days but there are two sides on the pitch both wanting to beat each other and you cannot win every game.

Southampton have enjoyed a remarkable season so far with automatic promotion a real possibility and yet by the reaction of some of their supporters following that defeat, you wouldn't know it."

Complete embarrassment today, but then we always are at Millwall. All the goons figured out a long time ago that it's the safest trip in the country if you just go there in your overpriced 80s Casuals jacket, mouth off at the home fans (not one of whom they get within 100 metres of all day thanks to being in the upper tier in the ground and on "Coward's Walkway outside), get all lairy at London Bridge after the game when said home fans have been dispersed, and then go home thinking you're quite the hard nut...

But most, of all - "Bubbles"? Really? Christ.

Agreed mate. Very quiet, but at least on the right hand side we didn't have any of those s***e songs. As the OP says, don't know what's happened to our support, just completely died the last few months.

This is true, but just goes to highlight how many utter cretins we have in our home support.

Why do we have to have a thread moaning about the support after virtually every game.

People have the right to sing or shout or not it is up to them.

Unless we have "senior" supporters who think they have a right to tell critise everyone else and demad they sing

Perhaps the ticket office should have a singing/supporting test before you are allowed to purchase

Our support has been **** poor this season. Some people seem to forget we weren't even guaranteed to get out of League 1 this time last year. We've done incredibly well to get where we are, and all the players have put in an incredible amount of effort, but expectations have risen to ridiculous levels now. There's too many idiots who seem to take pleasure in abusing our own players whenever someone missplaces a pass. Stuff like I'm forever blowing bubbles has been sung at Millwall before, and it's hugely embarrassing. We've got far too many chavy teenagers in our support who haven't got a ****ing clue

Spot on about chavy teenagers singing stupid embarasssing songs giving stick to players, Guly in particular

If they had suffered the club's demise over the past 10 years home and away like I and many others have, theyd be grateful for how we are currently doing, and should just concentrate on getting behind the team

christ what a load of snobs' date=' younger fans have always sung chants which are embarassing to older fans, some of the older fans on here should cast their minds back to when it was them.[/quote']

It's not so much that, it's more a problem of the vast majority not singing at all.

Is this the s**t support that has filled near on every league away end this season? From a city of less than 300000 that doesn't have much support dotted around the country like some bigger clubs, meaning the large majority of our away support comes travels from the south coast? The s**t support that nearly every fan of every team we've played away this season who happens to have had a conversation with a saints fan gets reported back to this forum as 'the best set of fans this season'.. We might not be manchester united with flares and the like but I'd certainly disagree with describing our support as s**t!
