Cestrian Saint Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 This would be a good signing. The other player I'd like to see us make a move for is Kilgallon at Sunderland, although he's just got his place back in the first team because of injuries. Cestrian Saint Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 He's from Chester (Buckley to be precise, just over the border) so he must be good! He was raved about as a youngster and turned nto a steady prem performer. I am happy, he deffo adds depth and adequate cover. As the man said! :-)
Under Weststand Posted 28 January, 2012 Share Posted 28 January, 2012 Would be a decent loan, we've been very unlucky with injuries at CB, all coinciding together. If Fonte is fit for Tuesday then fine if not then we need someone in for that game.

david in sweden Posted 29 January, 2012 Share Posted 29 January, 2012 I don't know the finer points of the rules BUT; He has played ONE European game for his club side Stoke this season AND... one League game for Ipswich ON LOAN... Isn't there some rule about NOT playing for more than TWO clubs in the same season ? . I recall the discussions about JP not being playing for us earlier this month ... because he couldn't be transferred /loaned out afterwards ?
BILLY Posted 29 January, 2012 Share Posted 29 January, 2012 I think JP played for us and then two emergency loans to Blackpool and Millwall. I think emergency loans are OK but you can't be permanently transfered and play for more the two teams in a season. Hence we can only sign Collins on loan at this stage. There is a time frame for "loans" after the window closes, but I think emergency loans onlt applied to the " injured goalie" situation! As that is a very specific role in the team. Otherwise you have to use the players you have. I still think it's a question that needs to be addressed...Nigel !

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 29 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 29 January, 2012 Came from Mirror/People journo Alan Nixon. Midlands journo John Percy has now supposedly also confirmed he's coming to us on Twitter but haven't found that Tweet. Suspect we'll get an announcement tomorrow, if there's anything in this. The9 Posted 30 January, 2012 Share Posted 30 January, 2012 Almost sounds as gash as Hooiveld before he came here... I've actually seen Collins play a few times though, for Stoke and Wales - not to mention that I didn't judge Hooiveld before his arrival as I hadn't seen him. Doesn't play much for Wales though as... erm... Sam Ricketts plays ahead of him. Danny Higginbotham has kept him out of the Stoke side on occasion too, which is hardly a glowing reference. Still, he can't be worse than our last signing from Stoke.

S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2012 Share Posted 30 January, 2012 For a decent champ player (who would be a squad addition, not guaranteed first choice), he must have wanted upwards of 20k, which IMO is ludicrous.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 30 January, 2012 An Ipswich fan I know told me the reason he didn't want to stay on with them was because he wanted to stay in the Midlands. He was shocked he wanted to come down to us at all. Going to Leicester makes more sense for him + he might get extra wedge.
Pilchards Posted 30 January, 2012 Share Posted 30 January, 2012 Thank f*ck the greedy bastard didn't manage to agree terms.
