Paul Chuckle Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 My mate told me today that you uses to be able to get a bucket of beer (pint and a half) glass of beer at SMS. Anyone else remember this as I don't :-/
stkev7 Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 I remember getting one at Ewood Park years back but never at SMS.
This Charming Man Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Pretty sure you could but it only lasted for a short while.
Saint_Mabes Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Hard enough necking a freezing cold pint at half time!
This Charming Man Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Hard enough necking a freezing cold pint at half time! That's why you go down on the 35th minute and make your way back to your seat on the 55th minute.
scott_saints Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 That's why you go down on the 35th minute and make your way back to your seat on the 55th minute. This. What proper fans do.
The Cat Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 I think they only sold them in the Northam unless their death coincided with me moving to the Kingsland a few seasons ago. I never had one because the beer was (and still is) bad enough without having to force down an extra half a pint of it.
RedArmy Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Hard enough necking a freezing cold pint at half time!Freezing cold? I'm lucky if the bottle i get has seen a fridge in its lifetime.
Toadhall Saint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Yep - just about right at half time. Only prob was the stuff they put in it!
Denzil Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 They used to serve them, but they were difficult to finish as the beer is vile.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Yes kingsland used to do them all the time
scott_saints Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Bunch of women. I've never struggled to finish a beer at St Marys. Not as good as a pint in a pub, but man up and get over it. It's still beer.
krissyboy31 Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Bunch of women. I've never struggled to finish a beer at St Marys. Not as good as a pint in a pub, but man up and get over it. It's still beer. That's open to debate.
suewhistle Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Pretty sure you could but it only lasted for a short while. Well, a pint and a half of decent ale wouldn't last long in my hands but I've only ever had one beer at St. Mary's and that was more than enough: I'd rather wait for a shared jug at The Guide Dog or a few pints at The Junction...
VectisSaint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Bunch of women. I've never struggled to finish a beer at St Marys. Not as good as a pint in a pub, but man up and get over it. It's still beer. Not if its freezing cold, thats lager and is for girls. Man up and get a proper pint of warm flat beer.
LostBoys Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 You used to be able to get it under the Kingsland. I only used to buy one as I tended to be early because it was fresh poured whereas the pints were pre-poured and left to stand. I have not seen them for a few years now
StDunko Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 I have a photo of me drinking one under the Northam a few seasons ago. It makes it look like I have a really small hand, a bit like Jeremy Beadle.
Hatch Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 That's a very small bucket, surely a bucket is at least 6 pints.
Saintjersey Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Hard enough necking a freezing cold pint at half time! Man up.
