Millwall Build Up Thread

If Barnard does well, and we have Guly and Lee to come in, Lambert back, do people still want to sign another striker?

I forgot Connolly there too.

Probably not tbh. I was expecting Barnard to be out for a bit longer and then go out on loan, so this is a pleasant surprise for me

I reckon Puncheon will be CM with Reeves left and De Ridder right. Fox will obviously play CB, although with Richardsons strength he might have been the better option there.

I think Fox is playing there is because he's left footed, and NA obviously likes having a right footed and left footed centre back.

Yes... but... not because I don't believe in our current options for success in the NPC, but because I don't think they are right for the Prem. I want to see us sign a Prem-ready striker to improve us now and allow us to get stuck into the Prem straight away. That could be Lee, of course, I certainly hope so but not having seem him play it's hard to say.

This Mirror journalist seems to think there will be some news about our hunt for a striker in tomorrow's Sunday People..

Why do people suddenly think playing Barnard = a poor side?

It's almost as ludicrous as posters saying that he's not good enough for the championship, even though he's never really been given a chance at the championship.

I reckon he'll score today. I'm gobsmacked by peoples reactions to him, when he's done nothing wrong at all.

this

barnard works channels well which has been missed in some games this season

No Morgan today? Find that a bit surprising, not even on the bench. Is this an injury that we don't know about? Would actually probably have been a better option for CB than Fox although Danny did alright there on Monday (albeit after Leicester had taken their foot off of the gas). Still, should be good enough to beat Millwall today.

Exactly. When he got injured v Bristol Rovers last season, I thought it was a massive, massive blow to our promotion chances. Obviously we still went up, but we was a massive player for us last season, and if back to his best is plenty good enough at this level against a side like Millwall. Hope he scores.

Such a c*nt. Apparently us' date=' Reading and Brighton have new stadiums but don't have the passion of the blue few. Also repeating the 200,000 Southsea common myth lol.[/quote']

And Chanrai has agreed to pay player salaries this month as he sees that as the most important thing...what about the tax bill FFS?

Thats my fear If I'm honest.

I can't see it myself. I'm obviously not expecting a flawless performance... Fox isn't a centre back obviously... but he is sharp and not easily pushed around so I really think he can do a decent job. We'll see!

I really don't understand where all this hate for BArnard has come from. He did very well for us in League One, he always gives his all when he plays (even if he sometimes is a red card waiting to happen), and because of injuries he hasn't had his chance in the nPC for us yet. Get behind ALL the lads ffs.

I like the look of this team, Almost 4-3-3, although Fox at CB worries me - but there's a distinct League One look about our team, with Punch, Barnard and Jaidi all in there! League One looking, not League One in talent. It'll be an interesting game - Reeves to be our MOTM. :-)
