Goalie66 Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 (edited) Surprised no one has started this thread but hopefully we will have a good turn out and opportunity to bring in Lee. Edited 24 January, 2012 by St Chalet I've changed it for you
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 I would play the strongest available team for this game, a good win could be a springboard in terms of confidence for the big game against Cardiff on Tuesday. Lambert will be back, I'd start him up top with Guly. Bart Frasier Martin Fonte Fox Cork/Chap Hammond/Cork Morgan AL/YF/SDR Guly Lambert
Window Cleaner Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 I would play the strongest available team for this game, a good win could be a springboard in terms of confidence for the big game against Cardiff on Tuesday. Lambert will be back, I'd start him up top with Guly. Bart Frasier Martin Fonte Fox Cork/Chap Hammond/Cork Morgan AL/YF/SDR Guly Lambert none of the injured would be risked from the start, may be a little run out to see how they are for Tuesday. Why we might even have to use Jaidi in defence or someone from the "development squad" that in fact develops the square root of zero because AOC came from the academy group. Falque can't play in the cup because he's already played for Spurs so I guess the hard core of the squad will be on deck again cos there's nothing else.
S-Clarke Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 We need to play this one cleverly. I'd expect to see Fonte and Chaplow back in the frame (probably the bench) and I'd expect Lambert to start the game Other than that we'll probably see the likes of W-P, Reeves, Shaw get a chance.
SuperSAINT Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 Henderson has been a beast for them recently.
SNSUN Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 I was going to say play the youth side and get the hell out this competition to concentrate on our flagging league dreams, but with so many players seemingly coming back from injury we'd be wise to give them a game and get some match fitness. Them, and any signings we may have between now and Saturday.
humber Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 I was going to say play the youth side and get the hell out this competition to concentrate on our flagging league dreams. Said by someone not going?
Nexstar Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 Hopefully we'll see Lallana, Lambert, Fonte, Lee and Chaplow in the side. Lallana and Chaplow perhaps a bit hopeful, but if those 5 figure then the rest could come from the second-string players.
Matthew Le God Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 Frasier Playing a christmas tree formation?
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 Playing a christmas tree formation? haha I did think of the TV show when I was writing his name because I couldn't remember how he spells it! I did like that TV show though
Lighthouse Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 (edited) I'd go with Bart Frazer - Martin - Jaidi? - Harding Steve - Hammond - Morgan - Puncheon Lambert - Lee Depending very much on fitness and Lee's signing being complete. Edited 26 January, 2012 by Lighthouse
Chez Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 Simple way of winning this game. Bring back Jaidi to mark Hendersen. The rest will look after itself.
trousers Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 @joshooiveld20: Longest scan in history today, probably because I got the longest hammies ever. Hope for a good result, hammies are complicated injuries..
trousers Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 @joshooiveld20: Tomorrow I get the result, won't tell you guys though.. #noinfofortheenemy felt much better today already. #notworried
Saint Charlie Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 With doubt over Jos there is no way I would play Jose. Lee should start, Lallana no even if fit and the likes of Butterfield, JWP and De Ridder should start. Need to prioritise the league. Cardiff have no game Saturday.
trousers Posted 24 January, 2012 Posted 24 January, 2012 @joshooiveld20: Just made the best word in scrabble I ever made: quiche (might be dutch) and on a very good spot haha #winner NIGHT all!
Lighthouse Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Has anyone heard how serious Lallana's groin is His girlfriend seems quite impressed by it.
Window Cleaner Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Be good to give Lee some match time before league games if possible, and Falque. I'd play Falque and SDR, Lambert/Lee, Ward-Prowse/Cork. Falque is cup tied.
S-Clarke Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Falque is cup tied. Cup tied for the Carling cup and the europa, but not for the FA Cup afaik
Window Cleaner Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Cup tied for the Carling cup and the europa, but not for the FA Cup afaik unless the BBC have it wrong of course Against Cheltenham 7/1/12 18 Defoe (Falque 76)
Lets B Avenue Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Cup tied for the Carling cup and the europa, but not for the FA Cup afaik Came on as sub for last 15 mins against Cheltenham in the 3rd round. Therefore, cup-tied.
S-Clarke Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 unless the BBC have it wrong of course Against Cheltenham 7/1/12 18 Defoe (Falque 76) ah ok fair enough - didn't realise he'd play then.
saintrich Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Bialkowski Harding Martin Cork Richardson Holmes Hammond Ward-Prowse De Ridder Lambert Guly Subs: Davis, Butterfield, Fox, Schneiderlin, Reeves, Chaplow, Connolly.
Nexstar Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Skates at Peterborough on Saturday. Waterloo could get a bit interesting

Winchester Red Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Puncheon available. That creates a few more wing options then...
S-Clarke Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Bart Frazer - Martin - Fonte - Harding De Ridder - Hammond - Morgan - Puncheon Lambert - Reeves IMO It'll be something like that.. with a bench of... Davis, W-P, Forte, Shaw, Holmes, Chaplow, Sinclair
trousers Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Bart Frazer - Martin - Jaidi - Fox Ward-Prowse - Hammond - Morgan - Puncheon Lambert - Lee Bench: Davis, Stephens, Reeves, Cork, Holmes, Connolly, Fonte
JibMcdo Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Rest Guly and Cork. They've played a lot of minutes this season. Davis Frazer - Martin - Fonte - Fox SDR - Hammond - Morgan - Puncheon Lambert - Connolly Bart, Harding, Stephens, Shaw, JWP, Reeves, Lee Assuming Hooiveld, Jaidi, Butterfield, Chaplow, Barnard and Lallana are all out. Could do with Fonte being fit. Cork isn't a CB.
S-Clarke Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Wouldn't expect Lee to be starting. On the bench possibly.
Window Cleaner Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Rest Guly and Cork. They've played a lot of minutes this season. QUOTE] out of interest here's the breakdown for the prinicipal protagonists: KD 2340 minutes FR 2120 " RC 954 " JC 2421 " DH 1955 " MS 2049 " JH 2110 " JF 2049 " SDR 941 " AL 2176 " RL 2255 " DC 1282 " DF 2074 " GDP 2240 " so yes Guly and Cork have played a lot but so have plenty of others, pity we can't go reserve team for this one really.
Wade Garrett Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 I would start Lee and Puncheon. We need them match-fit asap, and this is the ideal opportunity.

That's interesting. They have played a lot and they have also played the most recently out of those who are at the top end of the amount of minutes played. All the others in the 2000s have had a rest recently through suspension and injury (bar Fox). I'd say there's a case to rest Guly and Cork.
The Cat Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 Skates at Peterborough on Saturday. Waterloo could get a bit interesting They'll probably only take 500 or so, we'll be lucky to see any of them.
SFC Forever Posted 25 January, 2012 Posted 25 January, 2012 If Butterfield is not getting a game for whatever reason I would start with Stephens and bring on Frazer for a run-out either late second half or if and when needed. Bart Stephens, Fonte, Martin, Fox/Harding Hammond, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Puncheon Lambert, Hoskins Davis, Frazer, Reeves, Guly, Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Harding/Fox
Avenue Saint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 ........................Bart Fraser....Fonte....Martin.....Fox Sdr..........Cork.....Morgan...Puncheon ..............Lambert, Connolly Connolly didn't look quite match fit, let him and punch sharpen up. Lee to come on later. Sdr and Fraser looked full of gas when they came on Monday night. Hammond, looked ****e too. A neutral mate asking me, how is he in the team?!
Dazza82 Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Think its a game to rest some players who are starting to look tired and give others a chance GK: Bart RB: Richardson CB: Martin CB: Fox LB: Harding MR: De Ridder MC: Schneiderlin MC: Ward-Prowse ML: Puncheon ST: Lee ST: Lambert

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 dont think fonte, hooiveld, lallana or connolly will be involved. chaplow maybe on bench at best. bart frazer Martin Fox harding SDR Hammond Morgan/Cork Holmes Falque Lambert subs davis butterfield morgan/cork chaplow puncheon guly lee
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 For the umpteenth time. Falque is cup-tied.
krissyboy31 Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Squad looking pretty thin as things stand!

tttdcs Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 For the umpteenth time. Falque is cup-tied. So he maybe on the bench ?
Lets B Avenue Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 So he maybe on the bench ? Only at the Bagpuss trial.
Ashley Grute Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Cork looked knackered Monday- think Hammond will start.
