Dig Dig Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 Yes this is Saints related!... Just hearing about Man Citys percieved struggles over the last few weeks made me think about some interesting comparisons with the mighty Saints this season. City, like us, were the early pace setters in the league and looked untouchable, particularly at home. However, the Xmas period seemed a bit of a struggle for them (again like us) and people are now questioning their credentials as potential Champions (sound familiar?). I guess the main point I'm making is that despite all of their investment in the squad over the last 3 years, lots of people are claiming that they are missing or have missed key players from thier squad and hence forth are not as good as they were earlier in the season. It just shows that EVERY team, no matter how much is chucked at the squad, have players that are so key to a teams set up, stlye of play and leadership that if they are missing, it has a profound effect on performance and results. IMO we have been missing elements of the core of our team for weeks now and it's no coincedence that our results of late have shown this. So above all, getting the likes of Fonte (and now Jos), Frazer, AL, Lambert, Chaplow back in asap is infinetly more important than anything else we do this January.
