Not in my daughter's Catholic school it isn't. My daughter couldn't be anymore sceptical about religion if she tried and the school don't discourage this.

I didn't say "all faith schools" or "every RE lesson at faith schools".

Seems a weird subject to make compulsory, religion is just a bunch of f*cked up fairy tales IMO.

Perhaps... but a lot of people believe in it, so I think it is important to know what people believe.

You could apply the same logic to lots of things. Doesn't mean they require lessons in school about it.

Don't think they believe in it otherwise our churchs would be overflowing with worshippers I expect more people end up down the pub on Sunday.

Creationism. Not in British schools anyway.

Creationism is taught in R.S.

Not as fact... but as, this is what some Christians believe in, but others believe it is just a metaphorical story, whereas others don't believe in it at all kind thing.

That's true... but I was referring to worldwide, not the U.K. We're different, we are very secular, though even if we are secular, there are many apathetic Christians... who do believe in some form of Christian based deity.

You're right. I've just read it back and you were indeed more ambiguous than I gave you credit for... ;-)

You said the RE course is indoctrinating in faith schools. That is a ridiculous generalisation.

You do realise that not everyone who either believes in God or believes in a religion goes to church dont you?
