influx Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 Why boo!? I don't get it. The one time our team could do with a bit of a boost and you get a group of muppets start booing. Idiots. In general i thought our support was pretty poor last night. Get behind the team ffs!

dronskisaint Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 People can boo if they want to. They can do what they want and not live their life through the expectations of a mong on a football forum *I didn't even go to the game, Even though I was offered a free ticket, I watched at home. It was that ****e I turned over and watched Coppers on chan 4. People can - supporters don't boo their own players!
Lighthouse Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 I don't see the problem with booing at full time. Half time no, because there's still time to turn it around and make up for a poor first half. Anyone who pays good money to watch a performance like that has the right to boo a team. Why not, that was dreadful. I know we've had a brilliant season, 2nd in the league etc. etc. but that counts for nothing if you play like we did last night. Booing is the fans way of saying "that was utter sh*te and I don't ever want to see it again". Personally I want the players in no 2 minds about it. RobM Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 Well they did last night so you are wrong. Personally booing is gay anyway and should only be used at a pantomine when you are under 10. Boo'ing at 11 men in shorts on some grass is not cool. About as 'cool' as calling describing something as gay. People who boo the players during a season as successful as this aren't fans and certainly aren't supporters, even if it was a poor performance. Dr Who? Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 Saints games are panto! He's behind you! I agree yes you can if you want to boo the team, but is it really time for this, when we have been fantastic at home and sit second in the table...... Madness! We sure have been spoilt over the last 2 years,
Dr Who? Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 It is because people want to be entertained when they go to football, more than support their team. Nothing but mindless sulking.

I agree yes you can if you want to boo the team, but is it really time for this, when we have been fantastic at home and sit second in the table...... Madness! We sure have been spoilt over the last 2 years, So would you expect Bristol City fans to boo after they beat us at Ashton Gate? Afterall, they were still in the bottom 3 after being crap all season. People weren't reacting to our League possition, they were reacting to the game right in front of them. Which was sh*te. If people were upset about our league possition they'd be singing Adkins out etc. Not 5 seconds of booing at the final whistle.

Booing the team of the pitch will just further knock their confidence. Of course it was a **** performance, but do you really think you'd be telling the players anything they don't already know?! Lighthouse Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 But what's the point of it, what does it achieve? Booing the team of the pitch will just further knock their confidence. Of course it was a **** performance, but do you really think you'd be telling the players anything they don't already know?! The same reason we cheer when we score. How pointless is that? The players know scoring a goal is good, so why bother jumping around shouting "Yeah! Get the f**k in!" It's about raw emotion and passion. No it's not rational, not nescessary and doesn't help the players. I can't see it knocking the players either. Anyone who can't take 5 seconds of booing after a display like that needs a good talking too. If that was me walking off the pitch I'd be thinking, "Yep. Fair enough, we were sh*te". LGTL Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 What do you expect? 99% of our fan base are embarrassing, you only have to go to games to realise that.
fareham saint phil Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 I've seen Saints play **** over the years, but i have never booed them off in my life and certainly wont start now, everyone's choice though
Saint-Fred Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 and who was that former player the other day who said Saints fans were fickle? What does he know, it's not like Saints fans had a almost a year of watching their team win every home game and then booed them off the park because they lost two in a row at home is it? oh wait........ daveygwyatt Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 Personally I think booing at full time if the performance was bad is ok, not something I do but everyone is entitled to show their displeasure. Booing during the game is out of order, a lot of older fans will remember the branfoot times and in particular a game v everton on news years day I think.. the atmosphere was so hostile our playerso had no chance , so since then I don't boo
Saint_lambden Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 I didn't boo but people can do what they like at the end of the day. Hearing a couple of people walking out of the ground, they said they did because they thought some of the players didn't put 100% in.
Toadhall Saint Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 I don't see the point n booing TBH - what purpose does it serve? Is it to let the team know they are playing ****e if so I expect they know that already. It wasn't a great display last night but it happens to all teams. DJ_TOAST Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 because they played like ****e. I would have left early but I wanted to stay till the end to boo them. I couldn't believe some people were clapping them off at the end FFS.
