Mouldy Coat Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 (edited) I am sure this will rattle a few feathers and some might get personal...hey ho However, I think the Staplewood situation has been posted on here a few times, but has the new build actually started except for the temporary provisions? It doesn't seem that way. It is interesting to see the accounts post and the fact that we like many football clubs are running at a considerable loss. Our only saving grace is that we have a wealthy family who for the time being are enabling us to operate in this way. However, it appears that whilst we have made relatively modest investments in the playing staff, we are still missing that blistering pace and that real bit of additional quality to maintain performance levels of late. I think it is becoming clear now that we don't have the transfer kitty available to attract the quality additions needed. Mind you funding operating losses of circa £7m (from memory) you can see why. Should we really expect to see £m's spent this window? Or just a couple of hopeful punts that might come good. I like the look of the Tottenham loan, he looks technically top notch but I think he would be better playing in the hole, maybe just off Lambo. Anyway my thoughts only. Last ones I remember was the unpaid tax bill of £7m i think but the due date hadnt surpassed at that point for which cortesi said it would be paid on time. S-Clarke Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 It was confirmed that it'll start in March, if it doesn't then I think questions will start to be raised about our financial position. The delay is apparently that we don't want it affecting our first team preparation, but they're already living out of the temporary huts so I'm not sure how true that is. Mowgli Posted 24 January, 2012 Share Posted 24 January, 2012 It doesn't matter how many times you ask the same question. Building work is still on schedule and will start in March.
