Tom8558 Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 I'm just interested in what people think about. Tbh I'll probably still wear it cos I quite like it but there we go.
Raging Bull Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 Yeah of course And it's last not least xx
Colinjb Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 No, it makes you worse then the Skates, if you cannot keep up to date don't bother attending the stadium. Why would it be an issue!? Behave chap, if you like the shirt you like the shirt, wear it with pride!!
cellone Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 Wear what you like. Only slightly wierd petty people get hung up about to what to wear to a football match. Use to be a lot more shirts from different seasons on display in the stands at SMS.
jimbojones10 Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 i still wear my shirt from 98-99 season, im crazy like that
Saint_clark Posted 21 January, 2012 Posted 21 January, 2012 It's probably the only Saints shirt I'll ever wear again. No sponsor and something different.
Colinjb Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 You can wear any saints kit but this one. Why, oh why, did we have to wear that in a cup final!?
Saint_clark Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 It always looks like it's made of fur to me.
TopGun Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Of course it's ok to wear previous shirts. I have about 6 different home versions dating from 1990 that I wear sometimes. I'm too big to get into all the ones before then!
Denzil Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 I think it's completely unacceptable. I hope the whole stand (which ever one you sit in) turns on you in unision chanting things like "you're just a pikey in last season's shirt" and "get your wallet out you stingy c*nt" until you put your hand in your pocket and get the correct kit.
adrian lord Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 No, you should be clad in Burberry, Aquascutum, and Henry Lloyd.
Lighthouse Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 The only acceptable way to watch football is to meet in a real ale pub at 9am and drink said ale until 2.45pm before heading to the ground. Upon reaching the ground you must then arrive at your seat 10 minutes late for every match. Stone Island shirts and Henry Lloyd jackets are the only acceptable attire. Replica shirts are banned. Anyone with a name printed on a shirt is banned for life. Those wearing face paints, jester hats or red and white wigs are to be ritually stoned to death at half time. Anyone who fails to follow these rules is either a pikey, a student or a gayer.

I ****ing hope they aren't still wearing Stone Island and Henry Lloyd either.

To answer the OP - it's fine, of course it is, you're there to support your team not join in a fashion show. Last years kit is special too, being the anniversary kit.
Cheam Saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 You can wear any saints kit but this one. I've still got mine and would wear it if I could still fit in it!
smithy Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 I've still got mine and would wear it if I could still fit in it! I liked that shirt *hangs head in shame*
Stanley Saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 My younger son wore his full kit - shirt, socks, shorts - on boxing day and I had to check that he wasn't wearing his shin-pads as we left the house. I think he was ready to go on in case there was a run of bad injuries and Adkins had to look into the crowd for any 'kitted up' 9-year olds to join the team.
kpturner Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Don't buy and wear football kits, then you don't have to worry (and you can avoid looking like a chav )
alpine_saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 I am planning to wear the 125th kit a lot over the summer, just like last summer. Looks smashing with a pair of khaki Bermudas.
STEVEADAMS Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Tom bit of a funny question as i am sure you would see many old kits at each and every game you got to. I love the new kit but still wear kits from lots of different seasons. The club wants us to buy new kits obviously to fund players, stadium etc etc, we all want success and it costs money. At the end of the day though wear whatever kit you want and wear it with pride.
forever a red and white Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Another question, is this seasons current home shirt, being used next season?
Cricketphilly Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 You can wear any saints kit but this one. I was given this as a wedding present!
Colinjb Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Another question, is this seasons current home shirt, being used next season? One year only I believe.
Bearsy Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 It's better to wear this season's because then if there's a lot of injuries you might get to play. That's what I do. That's why I always turn up in full kit including shorts, socks and shin-pads. If NA needs a last minute player, who's he going to pick? You in your out of date shirt and skin-tight jeans, or me in a nicely pressed full kit with squad number and name on back?
ant Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 (edited) Daft thread but agree that the sash deserves more outings. Apart from the fact that I stupidly got "Farewell League 1" on the back of mine which guaranteed it'll age horribly. D'oh! One year only I believe. Good job, the aap3 logo on mine is half-peeled off... Edited 23 January, 2012 by ant
Colinjb Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 [quote=ant;1247575 Good job, the aap3 logo on mine is half-peeled off... Same here. Really annoying, may buy another to be kept in mint state for my collection.
