Puncheon slates Cortese on Twitter

May be a very naive view and I'm well prepared for anyone who will shoot this down straight away for the betterment of themselves, but with people not so sure what the problem is between the two of them, could it not be his attitude at Markus Liebherr's memorial service. I was lucky enough to be there and he was dressed very casual and wasn't acting as respectful as others were deemed to be.

Just a thought. Probably a poor one.

This has been dispelled many a time. He was wearing black trousers and black shirt...much more formal than the hundreds of fans in shirts, shorts and sandals.

Would be good to know exactly what went on before we all rush to call him scum. Not a great idea to make it public but possibly borne out of frustration if he isn't sold this window or allowed to play for us. That isn't ideal for any footballer.

Exactly. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on "Nicolinas" side.

Let's be honest, none of us know what went on that made him persona non grata so we can't make a judgement about which side has been unreasonable.

If the rumours are true and we won't send him on loan or sell him for less than a million, then it may be unlikely that he will be anywhere else for the rest of the season. If I were puncheon and that was the situation then I would be pretty hacked off too because my career is basically being put on hold when all I would want to do is play.

We'll never know exactly what went on, same way that we'll never know exactly why Pardew was sacked. It's not good PR to have spats inside the club out in public knowledge. Rumours are rife that he was bullying Chambo when he broke into the team, causing himself to be disliked by the players and staff. Whether that particular rumour is true or not is debatable, but the fact remains that he's a petulant w4nker who comes across as pretty f*cking simple.

The sooner some mug comes and snaps him up, the better. There's a reason he's never settled anywhere.

He seems to have now burnt the bridges, so why not tell us all what happened, Jason? Why not get it in the open so we all know the facts?

I don't care if Cortese is in the wrong, Puncheon calling the people who pay his wages "clowns" isn't the way to go about things.

Cortese won't want to lose money on him, which Puncheon is obviously threatening, but Puncheon will end up at a lower-league club having played under 200 games in a career spanning 10 years and on the verge of being 27 years old.

When was he a petulant w4nker? All I'm saying is that if he is not allowed to play for us and we refuse to sell him, then I understand his frustration. I don't know any details about the spat and neither does anyone else so calling him all manner of names is a bit unfair without knowing the facts to make an informed judgement.

That's the thing, we'll get the usual idiots trying to turn it into a Cortese debate, but that's not the issue. Whether Cortese has done something or not, petulantly slagging him off on twitter is utterly pathetic, and slagging off the fans who shell out hard earned money to pay this c-unt's wages is sickening.

Very true.

It does make me laugh people doing the "we don't know what was said" or "cortese comes out looking bad" etc. what a total load of ********... We don't know what was said or happened behind closed doors but we do know Puncheon has had issues at loads of clubs. It isn't just here where he has had problems. But while he has been here he has created lots of problems including falling out with players and the manager. Read Adkins comments on him when he was fined and moved to train with the youngsters. He basically implies that he tried to create a bad team atmosphere and was too disruptive. Some people said that was due to him taking pops at chambo and eventually saying he doesn't even want to be here. But regardless of what happened you don't see any chairman/ managers coming out slagging players off. People fallout constantly. It is human nature. I fall out with my boss sometimes just as you probably do. The difference is I doubt you then go onto the Internet and report on there that your boss is a ****** and your basically going to sit on your ass doing jack **** while collecting your pay cheque. Fallouts happen daily, especially in football, anyone who even plays pub football knows that. Puncheon needs to keep his opinions to himself, it is called being professional, if you look at his career it is something he knows nothing about. Saying someone who has said nothing comes out looking bad is just laughable.

But what's unreasonable about refusing to sell him for less than one million? Especially as we seemingly can't buy hooper for less than seven? And why should we have to let him go out on loan yet again, it's getting embarrassing. No-one who takes him on loan wants to buy him.

Well Blackpool do...and Millwall did - just neither of them will meet Cortese's asking price.

Personally - I think I'd take any offer over £250k from a non-rival for promotion and get rid of JP.....BUT like most, I do not know what he did so right now I choose to trust that NC has his reasons for keeping him around, and as long as NA doesn't have a problem with it - thats good enough for me.

Cortese is probably used to dealing with businessmen and adults, not childish idiots.

It will be interesting to see what happens when they do come 'face to face' now. I also wonder what JP's agent will make of this.

Has any footballer in history ever said 'I will play in the reserves til my contract runs out'?

If we don't need the money don't sell him. He should have at least waited til feb 1st to have this rant.

Yeah, but if we are holding out for a reasonable price (1 million sounds a fair deal on paper for talent and potential), then those bids don't count as someone wanting to buy him. They had him on loan, liked him enough to bid, then failed to meet a reasonable price. I don't think we are under any obligation to slash our valuation just because they are stingy bastards.

OK. He rants with semi-literate mispelt garbage. If he had any sort of intelligence he would try to sort out problems with his boss with his boss, not by ****tering drivel to the cosmos. he is clearly not the brightest lightbulb in the discounted 6-pack from Asda. Plus he clearly has no sort of work ethic. In what sense do you interpret his inane drivellings as in any way a well-thought-out, postive suggestion?

It reads to me like he is "man who don take siht from no man, yeh bro" blah blah blah...... Tosser with an IQ of 75

Twitter should be renamed ****ter because that's what people who use it end up becoming.......a complete ****.

It has taken over where the news of the world ended,it causes nothing but trouble especially for footballers and does nothing to help out in situations like these.

At the end of the day I would like to see a return on some of the money that has been invested in the player but all of this nonsense is not doing anybody any favours.

If he was being so badly treated by Cortese wouldn't the pfa be publicly backing him and help him to fight his case ?. Also seems he never lasts long at any club, this suggests all we need to know about him. The guy is trouble and his attitude means he will waste what little talent he does have.

Hypo doesn't understand these things imo. He doesn't realise, that if sold without a transfer request, you have to pay out all sorts of contractual add ons. Sack him I say, let him go and disrupt some other team!

No-one comes out of this with credit, sadly, neither the player nor the club. He is probably frustrated that offers are coming in but being turned down. Maybe he concludes are more interested in keeping him to demean him than they are about taking some money and letting him continue his career.

Yes, his tweets are ill-advised and won't sweeten the relationship. But equally the Club needs to explain to him what the plan is and what the offer level needs to be to trigger his release.

A sour relationship here does neither party any favours.

The voice of reason - at the end of the day we all lose out.

A well-reasoned arguement - and one that I agree with, unfortunately I don't think Puncheon is on the same wavelength as you.

As someone once said ..picking a fight with your boss might give you some satisfaction.. but it's like shi**ing on your own doorstep !
