ART Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 The legend Etta James has lost her battle with leukaemia and died in California. An amazing singer at the very heart of Soul music for many years. The world is a sadder place without Etta's incredible singing and music. R.I.P. spyinthesky Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 Didnt have the commercial success and profile of others but a great voice nonetheless
Kev Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 How The Daily Mail first reported her illness back in December. RIP.
Hamilton Saint Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 Sad news. She was a dynamic performer. I saw her once in the early 80s at a blues club in Toronto - the Brunswick House on Bloor Street West. A great voice!
Fowllyd Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 Sad news. She was a dynamic performer. I saw her once in the early 80s at a blues club in Toronto - the Brunswick House on Bloor Street West. A great voice! I saw her some time in the 80s at the Town and Country (as was) in Kentish Town. Great performer, sad loss.
buctootim Posted 20 January, 2012 Posted 20 January, 2012 Saw her at the Brighton Centre about 1988 on the bill with some fabulous other blues and soul acts. She and the Five Blind Boys of Alabama sang as the walked through the crowd in the standing section of the audience. Great night.
