dubai_phil Posted 21 January, 2012 Share Posted 21 January, 2012 I think Dubai experienced about 56 minutes of rain yesterday!! Ist rain in about 9 months I think!! Started about 11pm but at around 4-5 am decent sized Thunderstorm and rain loud enough to have woken me up. Weather down here has been "odd" the summer was far hotter & humid than previous years, and it took until this past week to get down to the low 20's which is unusual, normally can get down to 15-19 by mid December.. Oh we did have one day of rain back in October - so again, actually far less than normal.

Anybody else experience so much sustained rain? no snow yet ? always seemed to rain in the Shetlands from Sept to Dec, then the snow would appear for a while to be replaced by more rain. used to hate the horizontal rain that was blown right into your face or if it wasn't raining the sea spray that got blown into your face even though you were inland as it was so f*cking windy ! Weather is crazy in Sussex too. Was around 14 degrees for most of December and still 12 degrees now in January, supposed the coldest month. Very little rain. OttawaSaint Posted 21 January, 2012 Share Posted 21 January, 2012 -12C (-19C with windchill) here today, so pretty pleasant. We had some -30C days last week, and usually once a year we get a few days in a row of -40C which is not pleasant at all...

Blue skies and sun. Cold though, around 2c. If games are called off in the south it will probably be because of frozen pitches, not snow.
