Didcot Saint Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 A mate of mine has heard Oxford United are after him. Don't know whether a loan or signing. Being as they have accepted an offer for one of their best strikers, just wondered if anyone else had heard anything?

S-Clarke Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 He's being earmarked for a short-term loan when he's recovered, in a bid to regain his fitness. He's already back in light training, so I don't think it'll be too long before he's fit to play.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Might be a loan to get fitness?
Appy Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Seems like they are losing their man striker James Constable, so that could work for them in the short term.
simo Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Glasgow saint why aren't you in a van outside Hoopers house with listening equipment (presuming you are in Glasgow lol)?

Scudamore Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Why would a proven League One goalscorer want to play for League Two team?

Miltonaggro Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Maybe Barnard is the makeweight in the Hooper deal. He would love the nightlife in Glasgow...
Miltonaggro Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 IMO he'd also be a 25 goal a season striker up there. Within 18 months he would be worth £35m...
St.Jeweller Posted 19 January, 2012 Share Posted 19 January, 2012 Oxford fan work mate txt me about this earlier, but Constable (OUFC Striker) pulled out of contract talks with swindon late this evening according to local news so may put the blinkers on Barnards move. Saint Garrett Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 Heard a rumour that Barney has always been fit but with everything thats been hanging over his head, Nigel hasnt wanted to involve him. Cant remember where it was from though.
david in sweden Posted 21 January, 2012 Share Posted 21 January, 2012 Why would a proven League One goalscorer want to play for League Two team? to get some form, fitness and playing time under his belt ?. I don't think we can afford to "nurse him along" in our first team until he gets his goalscoring ability back to CCC standard - not at present. Chez Posted 21 January, 2012 Share Posted 21 January, 2012 I know his neighbour. He's been injured. When fit he will go out on loan.
