A Slightly Different Interview With Nigel Adkins (VIDEO)

Both of those interviews were very good, perhaps the most human I've seen Nige.

Bit worried about his evident love for Liverpool, though. Mad King Kenny will eventually be deposed - after the success Nige has fostered at this club, I'd say he'd be in contention. Keen too, judging by this evidence.

If he gets us up this season and has a haf decent start, he will definately be in with a shout and is almost the perfect model of what the "boot boy manager" ethos that made them who they are ( or were ...ha ha)

I would guess that is his dream.........and nothing wrong with that.

And to be fair, I'm not sure any Saints fan would begrudge him his dream move if he got us from bottom of League 1 to a consolidated Premiership side after a few seasons. All a longggggggggggg way in the future and I actually believe he'll be with us for a while.

I couldn't begrudge him it either. Might be worth a punt at the bookies, to lessen the potential pain :D

Unfortunately, Saints being Saints will always lose their best players at the end of the day, and their best managers.

At the start of the season I did post that if Adkins continues his success with us up into the prem we will have to face the possibilty of losing him, and got utterly lambasted for it.

Oh my God you can see Nigel's tactical plans for the weekend on the whiteboard behind him and it seems we're expecting Leicester to line up with three left backs! Possibly they're going to triple-mark Falque????

Someone needs to take this video down asap before Pearson sees it!

I don't know why you got lambasted - it's a perfectly reasonable argument backed up by tons of evidence. You only have to look at the attention Paul Lambert is getting for achieving back-to-back promotions with Norwich, or the amount of successful young managers that have left for bigger clubs.

I hope the vision of Cortese and the owners is attractive enough to keep him around when he inevitably gets suitors.
