Is there anyway I can password protect photographs which are stored on a shared drive at work so that photographs can only be seen by those that have the password.

jan, all depends on if you have rights to create a folder etc and also if the rights are pushed down from your IT dept.

Best thing to do is try adding a new folder and then rights click on the folder to see the security / permission tabs. If you can change them then it will work.

Although we do not allow our users to do that as it can be an admin nightmare. Besat thing to do is ask your it dept to do for you if they will?

As Exit2 says...

Haev you thought of hosting them on an online photostore instead? You can noramlly assign a password for guest viewing nd give this out to the other people who you want to view the images.

You could use something like WINZIP to create an encrypted archive and only give the p/w to those who you need to. They would be able to open files directly from within the ZIP to view them.

Would be easy to put them in a Word document and encrypt that?

The simple things are the best and exactly what I did thanks as didnt think of this option but it worked well.
