"What dammit! Southampton! Is that my level?"

Sweadish friend of mine was reading Ibrahimovic's autobiography saw these sections that mention Saints and thought of me.

Which translated is.

So I went to my agent, Anders Carlsson:

"What's up? What do you have going on?" Of course, Anders tried well. He checked it out and returned. But what did he come with?

"Southampton are interested", he said.

"What dammit! Southampton! Is that my level?"

Southampton!

Then a later chapter, where he got his new agent Mino Raiola:

"How many times do I have to say this?", he screamed.

"You were ****, and you sure damn well shouldn't kick down advert signs. You gotta grow up."

"Go to hell"

"Go and **** yourself!"

"**** you, I want out of here", I screamed.

"Then you gotta move to Turin, then."

"What are you talking about?"

"I might have Juventus going on."

"What?"

"You heard me", and I did. I just couldn't understand, not in this big fight.

"You got Juventus for me?"

"Possibly."

"Are you wonderful, you ****ing idiot?"

"Nothing is done yet, but I'm working on it", he said and I thought, Juventus!

That's something else than Southampton.

So it appears we were interested in Ibra when he was a Ajax. Shame Anders couldn't convince him to join!

IMO one of the most over rated players ever.

Has been crap in every single match I have seen him play. He must have played like Maradona in all the others to get a career like he did.

Totally agree. Watching the Milan derby on Sunday, along with the Swede Robinho is another terribly over-rated footballer.

Still though, both would walk into our team.

Swedes have been hearing /seeing about Zlatan for more than 10 years. First he was " that Yugoslav kid with the attitude " then he moved to Ajax and got some acceptance as a goalscorer - even though he wasn't Swedish - then the big moves to Spain and Italy and suddenly he's in the National side - and has

on occasions - scored goals that are straight out the MLT training manual (if there was such a thing)....BUT sadly his club performances have nearly always

eclipsed his international ones. He just doesn't play (the Swedish way).....and has been almost invisible in some games. He comes into the (McMenemy quote - Ballarina Class) - IF you feed him enough he'll score some memorable goals - but what do the other 9 outfielders do ?

He's won the Swedish "Golden Ball Award " (Footballer of the Year) FIVE times in a row !

Yet, some of Sweden's best results have been in games - without Zlatan ..but who would ignore selecting him when he is available. No-one in Sweden anyway.

If you want to see how good he CAN be ..take a look at U-Tube Zlatan Ibrahimovic 2011 TOP 10 GOALS * NEW* .....and try and tell yourself it isn't MLT.

He's scored a huge number of goals and won titles just about everywhere, so not that rubbish. The British media just like to emphasise the champion's league games he doesn't shine in.

I have to say, my opionion of him has nothing to do with the British Media, it's based purely on the games i've seen him in and I've just not been impressed in the slightest.

I felt the same about Shevchenko before he moved to Chelsea, couldnt understand the Hype so wasnt at all surprised when he bombed over here.

You could just see when he took that peno against Liverpool in the CL final that he was going to miss, he didnt fancy that AT ALL!!

I feel the same about Ibra when i've seen him play, looks like he's just there to pick up a pay cheque

Please don't tell me that you haven't noticed Ibra and Schev's talent? All credibility will go out the window.

Thats the problem though, it's not a case of talent, it's a case of application & mindset.

In the case of schev, if you pay 30+ million for a striker you'd fully expect him to have the mental toughness to score a decisive Penality in a high pressure match like the CL final 10 times out of 10. For me, if you're paying that kind of money then you're payng for the best of the best.

The price tags both players have moved for are realtive in the terms they are judged, World Class Transfer fee, expect a World Class player.

When I see either of them play, I expect exactly that, A world beater... I dont see that. I see flashes of undoubted talent, but if they are to be held in the esteem their transfer fees suggest, then for me... they need to do more. In that sense they're over rated.

You could of course argue that they moved at a time when transfer fees were inflatted & as such we should take that into account when judging their performances
