Have to say the guy does sound a bit of a nutter, but if true I agree, about time one of these multi- millionaires gives something back to the game that has made them wealthy. Fantastic gesture.

There was a story that he donated £250 to a local church that turned out to be true.

There was also one about him giving £1,000 to a tramp after he won 20k at a casino. Think that was made up though.

MARIO BALOTELLI is doing his bit for homeless animals in Manchester.

The Italian striker has taken a shine to a stray cat called Wimblydon who is a frequent visitor to the Manchester City training ground.

Animal lover Mario, who enjoys visiting zoos and wildlife parks, now makes daily checks on the ginger moggie, which has been allowed to roam the complex for more than a decade.

A source said: "Mario loves Wimblydon and would love to take him home.

"Every day he comes in and makes sure the cat has come in to training and been fed.

"He was quite bemused at first that a cat was allowed to roam the grounds but it appeals to his sense of humour.

"Mario is always keeping an eye out in the car park to make sure none of the lads actually run over the cat. He's very protective of him."

The cat received its name from former Colombian fitness coach Juan Carlos Osorio, who had trouble pronouncing "Wimbledon" a few years back.

Mario bought two chow chow puppies before Christmas and has another dog – black labrador Lucky – back in Italy.

Good job he's picking up a decent wage at City, his pet food bill must be huge.

I liked the one about the police pulling him over and searching him. They found 5 grand in notes in his pocket, when they asked why he had such a large sum of money upon his person he simply replied, "because I'm rich".

lol - he's a right character, completely mental but brings a bit of something extra to the English game. Hope he stays, seems a pretty generous guy too all being said.

Hard to pay someone 150k per week then complain if they have 5k cash on them. That's the equivalent of me having 2p in my pocket. Maybe 1p.

You earn 60p per week? :?

Would be the sort of thing that he would do. I think it would be great if more footballers did the same, but I suppose then it would give the clubs no insentive to act responsibly.

All these Balotelli rumours are ruining the real thing.

Hearing the odd true story now and again did make a great read but now you hear something different every day and now its just

irritating.

I got 8/10 on the quiz, he is absolutely hilarious...Not convinced by the Darlo thing though!

After the derby he went round Manchester high fiving City fans.

And also put 25 tramps up in Hilton hotel or something for Christmas.

Turned up to a house party in Manchester or something last weekend.

And also turned up at a local school/college and asked to use the toilet.
