Yago Falque Joins on loan from Spurs

I can't say that I'm wowed by this signing as he's moved around an awful lot for a 21 year old. Suggests he wasn't good enough for Barca and Juve or has an attitude problem of some sort and they both got rid of him because of it.

Not good enough for Juve or Barca? Get him out, he'll never cut it in the Championship.

So that's our winger/creative midfielder then. I was hoping for Matt Phillips from Blackpool on a permanent, Jonjo Shelvey on loan from Liverpool or Soriano from Barca B on loan when someone said Spanish! . They say he can play in lots of positions so I hope he not our 'other striker' as well.

I also thought we were supposed to be building a team for the Premiership - a 21 year old Spanish player on loan doesn't quite fit that bill. An 'Arry Redknapp hand-me-down doesn't feel right either. By the time he's adjusted to English football he will be back at Spurs.

Where does this leave us with Puncheon as it doesn't look like he going anywhere is part exchange - or get a place in the team. I think we'll end up selling him to Blackpool for something far short of what we'd hoped for.

It also looks like we don't actually have a lot of money to spend - or wont spend it if we do. It will be loans for us I think. Matthew Kilgallon, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Adam Hammill on loan anyone?

So many bull**** assumptions here....sigh...

I guess Southampton's nearer to Sandbanks than north London. Sandra's always number one in Harry's thoughts. I guess Iago is problably one of Sandra's toy boy acquisitions from her holidays in Spain. As long as he doesn't come with Kevin Bond's blessings and a Ides of March curse tag.

more lovely tippy tappy football on its way to SMS. Love these foreign, don't have a clue what they are really like transfers. Very good idea to borrow ****flaps youngsters, build a relationship with them and when they run out of patience waiting for a first team slot we can grab them on the cheap.

If West Ham or Cardiff had signed this kid then plenty on here would be spitting blood. So that's good enough for me.

Hopefully he's got a bit of pace.

Plus, as well as giving us another option, he might help improve De Ridder's game - he's got some real competition for his role now.

11 goals in 36 games from attacking midfield in the Spanish 2nd division for Villareal B seems pretty decent, anybody know the quality of their 2nd div? Sounds highly rated although apart from that stint at Villareal B, hasn't played an awful lot of 1st team games in his career. Will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Yes, how does it compare with the SPL ?

I think we should be told.

I was only being first on the latest bandwagon for a war amongst Saints supporters over how his name is pronounced. Yago is the Italian version of the name Iago so this is Saintswebs World War 3 topic in the coming months. I'm sure he'll end up being called Fred once everyone's seen him play. :)

Wouldn't get too excited about this until i've seen him play , we have had too many loan players over the years who have had no impact, and the last one from spurs Tomas Perkhart is a good example, he was dreadful.

If he has pace that is a good start, we definitely lack that.

The same thing entered into my thinking. The Juventus -Switzerland-Sandbanks connection. If Sandra's luxury yacht "Bung" was moored out in the Solent then you can be sure of dodgy dealings. I'll wager everyone that it was Harry that first introduced NC to the club. This is going to be the big breaking story one of these days.

Would historys view of Redknapp from a Saints perspective change because of it ?

Keep up! The Skate takeover thread has unveiled Andrew Andronikou as the man who 'hooked us up' with Markus and Nicola. ;)

#No, really, the Android insists he did....!!!!! But that's a topic for another thread.#

If it is Iago, it is almost certainly the first Shakespearian character we have ever signed. I think Romeo Beckham will be the second.

Oh no........

Aaron (Martin) Titus Andronicus

Adam (lallana) (as you like it)

Antonio(Merchant of Venice)

Basset (henry v1 part 1).

etc etc.

you can Wiki the rest !!

Gutted we don't have a view to buy, but he is a promising talent so I didn't really expect it. Perhaps if he enjoys his time here on loan we can link up with him again and buy him on the sly when a few years down the line he isn't getting first team action.

One or two more signings I reckon, one loan one permanent.

Harry wants his player to get games in a team that plays decent footy which will improve Falque.

I suspect you're dead right, and letting us aid in the development of a player of his supposed calibre is a reflection of the respect that Spurs and Harry actually have for Adkins and our style of football.

He could have gone to WHU and learnt next door to SFA, other than how to watch the ball fly over his head en route to the front.
