4th richest club?

It's true if you take into account the Leibbher Family fortune. Rich owners are meaningless if they don't put in and these rich lists could be debated all day. Still, it's the generally accepted position that we're top 5 yes.

Indeed, and even more meaningless if they seldom attend the games. I'm sure they're interested because they feel (and probably have) a responsibility to see Markus's wishes through to fruition, but whether it goes beyond that - and how much was set aside to pursue the vision - are things we don't know and probably never will.

I don't set much stock in the wealth of our owners but the rumours about a huge bid for Hooper add a very interesting dimension to the discussion.

Just as a matter of interest, when was the last time anyone from the Liebherr family attended a game?

Yeah, as said before, our owners have the wealth, but we're far from the fourth richest club. United, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are just 6 clubs who could easily outbid us for players still. But if we get promoted, I can see our level of financial support moving us up the rich list. I know a lot of them have debts, but part of being wealthy is how much debt you can work with without getting into trouble.

I think he got confused tbh. We have the 4th/5th richest OWNER. We are not necessarily the 4th/5th richest club.

Nail on the head. Even if the Liebbher family are prudent with their investment we are stronger because we have their backing. This brings about stability and allows us to plan for the future in a sustainable way.

We have a lot to be grateful to Markus and the family, whatever their intentions. I also believe that the family are honourable unlike some of these flash fly by nights.

We have a great future ahead of us, although i don't think this year will be the one that sees us promoted.
