Who is this week's mystery signing?

The more I think about it the more I believe it will be Clyne from Palace.

He never played yesterday which according to the Palace forum was a mystery.

They signed a player called Mcshane last week for a months loan and he can play in the cup as stated on their official website.

Mcshane came on as sub and played okay, he's a Irish international right back.

We was looking for a right back recently as he does not fancy Burtterfield anymore, IMHO Richardson has a great cross but does not do 'skinning the left back' very well while Clyne does it all.

Reckon a 2m deal could of been agreed and the guy is coming to us.

According to the Journos up in Palace we inquired very seriously at the end of August.

He still hasn't signed his contract and he's available for free in the summer, so you'd imagine a fee of around £2m could be tempting for them.

Don't think it's a massive priority though as we have Fraser, Butters, Stephens and even Harding who can play there. But he's quality and will improve the squad, so can't complain if it happens.

If it's De Bruyne I will walk around Southsea for the day in a Saints shirt.

He's one of the top talents in Europe and will cost upwards of £9m.

Barca, Real, Chelsea, Bayern have all registered an interest in the past!

I think people are getting carried away here, nay extemporising.Kevin De Bruyne will cost 15 million euros and he's probably only worth about a fifth of that.Wait and see Lukaku and Courtois will be back in Belgium or Holland or Germany on loan soon.Chelsea are nutters in the transfer market, keep buying players they have no use for and ruining budding careers.

I am not ITK, but I do find the Clyne rumour interesting, particularly as we've been linked with him before and Nige is currently starting Dan Harding in at right back. If your first choice right-back is a left-back, then that's probably an indication of where we need to strengthen.

We all thought we were fine at Left Back with Harding, Dickson Mills & Reeves, yet we brought in Fox.

Our style of play & the 3 CM midfield places a heavier reliance on the full backs so yes could have legs.

Would then mean AL Lee & to an extent Guly offer the options in the Diamond with Hooper & RL up front.

SDR, Holmes, Guly & AL out wide offer the options for the rest of the season if we need to play 2CM's

Yeah, could work

can not see that at all. He is very committed to Palace, turning down Wolves a year ago and has a potential cup final to play in. In the summer maybe, if we have got promoted, but not in this window.

He is out of contract at the end of the year. Tribunal fee is likely to be around £2M, so I reckon Palace will bite any hands off that happen to be holding more cash than that.

Really depends on the player and the sales pitch we give him. Wolves came in for him last year - Clyne didn't even enter talks.

A quick search on Twitter reveals that every top (as in, think they're good) Championship club seems to be chasing him. Man Utd are also reported to be interested.

It'll be something of a coup if we manage to secure his signature.

According to Wikipedia, De Bruyne's mother was born in Ealing. Takes all sorts.

Might be spelt incorrecectly and should read Eling nr Totton, in which case it'll be a done deal as we always sign players with local connections (Vokes, Jukiewitz, Stock, Howard, Holly Vallance etc ).

Tim Cahill....just putting it out there. Pretty unhappy at Everton according to Aussie press. Attacking midfielder who gets goals...

If we'd signed him when we were supposedly trying, when he was at Millwall, we'd likely still be in the PL.

He's a hell of a player whose game has gone completely pear-shaped scoring-wise, so he desperately needs a change of scenery.

A reliable midfield goal scorer would add a lot to us but I doubt that he'd come here. Plus, Everton might have not forgiven us for selling them Beatts. ;)
