Matthew Le God Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 You are of course assuming the op is not just making it up. THEVMAN has been correct with team news for a large number of games, he clearly has a contact at the club and is reliable.
Avenue Saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 great! what is it with so many players getting injured in training this season?!!!
johnnyboy Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 You are of course assuming the op is not just making it up. If he is not then its a pretty stupid move to put it on the web and give notice to leicester And is now all over twitter . Not the smartest thing to do !
RobM Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 THEVMAN has been correct with team news for a large number of games, he clearly has a contact at the club and is reliable. However true, the injury information we received prior to the last game turned out to be incorrect. Let's hope it's the same this time around
Window Cleaner Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 great! what is it with so many players getting injured in training this season?!!! competition for places?
Avenue Saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 competition for places? lol windows! groundhog... what was it...? ;-)

derry Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 More injury woes AL has done his groin not fit,and Fonte and chapps still not ready. Is SDR and FR fit?
derry Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Midfield is the problem, I think there will be one change at wide left and right back will depend on fitness.
SuperMikey Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Above is what I think it will be but I would stick De Ridder straight in for Hammond and switch Cork to centre -------------------DAVIS---------------------- FRASER-----MARTIN-----HOOIVELD---------FOX De RIDDER------CORK-----MORGAN-------FALQUE ---------------GULY-----CONNOLLY------------ Subs: Bart, Harding, Hammond, Holmes, Reeves Cork was excellent on the right against Forest, and Hammond and Morgan were great in the middle together as well. I wouldn't change that until De Ridder is 100% fit again.

derry Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 However true, the injury information we received prior to the last game turned out to be incorrect. Let's hope it's the same this time around THEVMAN was correct he said the only one of the injured who was fit was Guly. SDR was on the bench despite not being fully fit.
captainchris Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Looks like we signed the boy from Spurs just in time then ! Failing that play Harding at left back and push Fox into left midfield. Fox cannot play in midfield - he cant attack......
S-Clarke Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Fox cannot play in midfield - he cant attack...... I don't think he's too bad in an attacking sense at all. I think we've reigned him in slightly though as Burnley fans say he bombed forward all the time, leaving his position exposed. If anything we've coached a bit more responsibility into him re: his actual position.
beatlesaint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Fox cannot play in midfield - he cant attack...... Swap them around then :-)
Window Cleaner Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Swap them around then :-) And Harding can?? what is this obsession with playing left-backs in midfield, they're not all Gareth Bale you know. We have an adequate number of midfielders to call upon without using left backs (or right backs for that matter). Cork,Hammond,Morgan,Falque(or Holmes if Falque isn't ready to start). Who knows perhaps we've been hiding Tadanari in the coal cellar to spring on an unexpecting Leicester.
Wade Garrett Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 More injury woes AL has done his groin not fit,and Fonte and chapps still not ready. Falque on the left and Cork on the right then. We are unlucky with injuries on the training ground.
Chez Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Fox cannot play in midfield - he cant attack......can he defend?
saints-cris Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Lambert, Lallana, Chaplow and Fonte all out. Probably the first 4 names on the teamsheet ! Time for others to step up then.
Saint Garrett Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Chaplow is not one of the first players on the teamsheet, he was fantastic for us when he was playing, but not sure about these people saying he's going to come back and be some kind of Messi character. Agree wit the other names though, shame about Lallana but we should be ok.
svetigpung Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 All a bit worrying news this. Gonna be a tight close game tommorrow. Step up Dean , Cork and Spiderman. Own the midfield.
washsaint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Why is everyone assuming the Spurs loanee will start....what about Reeves or Ward-Prowse?
S-Clarke Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Why is everyone assuming the Spurs loanee will start....what about Reeves or Ward-Prowse? Neither are wide players, where as Flaque is. If we start with a midfield of Cork - Morgan - Hammond and W-P we will be frightfully narrow and it will play into Leicesters hands.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Why is everyone assuming the Spurs loanee will start....what about Reeves or Ward-Prowse? Because he is more experienced and has come from Spurs in order to get games, not drop behind Reeves and Ward-Prowse in the pecking order.
beatlesaint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 And Harding can?? what is this obsession with playing left-backs in midfield, they're not all Gareth Bale you know. Who knows perhaps we've been hiding Tadanari in the coal cellar to spring on an unexpecting Leicester. If you go back to my original post I said Falque to play on the left or failing that move Fox up and play Harding. Its not an obsession with playing full backs in midfield, its simply called an option...thats O P T I O N, ok ?
LGTL Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Davis Harding Martin Jos Fox Falque Morgan Hammond Cork Guly Connolly
captainchris Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Swap them around then :-) Very good idea
surrey1saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Anyone any idea how many we have sold for tomorrow?

CB Fry Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Davis Harding Martin Jos Fox Falque Morgan Hammond Cork Guly Connolly That team can beat Leicester City. There's two strikers there desperate to prove we don't need to spend £10m on a new one. A kid from Spurs about to become a six month all time Southampton legend. And basically the squad that have got us to the top of the league. 3-1 win.
Um Bongo Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Is Butterfield fit yet? If So: Davis Butterfield Martin Jos Fox Cork Schneiderlin Hammond Harding Guly Connelly However I think SDR will be back. In which case he might played flat 3 in midfield, with SDR behind Guly/Connelly.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Is Butterfield fit yet? He came on as a sub against Forest last week. I think SDR will be back. And he was fit enough to be on the bench.
alpine_saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 THEVMAN has been correct with team news for a large number of games, he clearly has a contact at the club and is reliable. Maybe, but he was wrong about the Forest team.
Genk Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 THEVMAN has been correct with team news for a large number of games, he clearly has a contact at the club and is reliable. He knows Adam Lallana personally based on other posts, so AL is out tomorrow. Do we know Guly is fit btw?
suewhistle Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 According to the Leicester Mercury: " City head to the south coast with a mounting injury list. Midfielder Andy King is the latest to be sidelined, along with Darius Vassell, Martyn Waghorn, Jeff Schlupp, Matt Oakley and Frank Moussa, while Sol Bamba and John Pantsil are away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations." Being on the box there should be a stream. Time to go off and see if it's on telly here in Italy: highly unlikely but it is Monday night.

A kid from Spurs about to become a six month all time Southampton legend. And basically the squad that have got us to the top of the league. 3-1 win. Yep, it's a pretty decent side considering we have 4 first teamers out. I'm confident but hate evening games on Sky, we're usually poor.

And Yuki Abe has had his contract cancelled so he can go back to Japan.
alpine_saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Bit down from hearing about Lallana. Thought he was approaching his best again. With it being Rickies last suspended game, Chaplow and Fonte still not fit, and being an evening game live on Sky, this match is beginning to feel like a dose of disgusting-tasting medicine, a root-canal treatment or a vasectomy to get out of the way...

Presumably you won't overreact if we lose then.
alpine_saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Presumably you won't overreact if we lose then. I'll react in whatever way is appropriate for my emotional state when/if it happens, alright ?
Jonnyboy Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 I'll react in whatever way is appropriate for my emotional state when/if it happens, alright ? Can't you be objective?
alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Can't you be objective? Where my team are concerned ? Nope, and I dont try too hard to be, either.
SW11_Saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Where my team are concerned ? Nope, and I dont try too hard to be, either. Have always meant to ask, who is your team?
dubai_phil Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Yippee! Although their web site didn't show it, the game is on Al Jism tonight. They were advertising it late last night. Might mean for those without Sat access that there will be a decent stream again. Now to unplug the decoder upstairs swap it with the one downstairs retune it and.... Oh sod that will watch it in bed!
alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Have always meant to ask, who is your team?
Barry the Badger Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Have woken up properly nervous today for the first time in a while, I think the break has served to make me realise how close we are and just how much I'd bloody love to see Saints back in the prem. Plus losing the last home match means that slight feeling of invincibility has gone.
Saint Garrett Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Have woken up properly nervous today for the first time in a while, I think the break has served to make me realise how close we are and just how much I'd bloody love to see Saints back in the prem. Plus losing the last home match means that slight feeling of invincibility has gone. I'm with you on this one!! Will be tough with how many players are missing. Not many teams will be able to cope without their best 3 players and loads of the other options ! But on the plus side, they've got a reasonably weakened team as well and we are capable of beating anyone. Hopefully the players who come in will perform as they will want to keep their place for the next game, and I'm sure Falque will want to impress on his debut if he's picked (which I am assuming he will be due to Lallana's absence). Will be a tight game I think but maybe 2-1 Saints or something along those lines.
