Leicester City build up thread

Chatting to a colleague at work earlier, I said I'd prefer De Ridder to start (if fit) with Falque on the bench, in response he suggested the following, utterly seriously. Tell me it's not just me who thinks he's mental.

"Well we could play both, De Ridder can play centre mid you know, we should play Harding on the left and move Lallana to the centre too where he can use his skill".

Harding - De Ridder - Lallana - Falque

Maybe it's me that's mental and he's a footballing visionary.

How can you play centre mid if you can't tackle, you can't read the game and you can't choose the best option 9 times out of 10.

Your friend must be a Pompey fan.

Looks like something Whisky George would come up with.

think harding might retain his place at rightback he has done very well there in last two games.

Davis

Harding----Martin----Jos---- Fox

Falque----Morgan----Hammond----Lallana

Connolloy----Guly

Bart,Frazer,Cork,Holmes,De Ridder

Hard but i would start with Falque over Cork on the right. his fitness won't be an issue.at home we should go alittle more on the offensive. i havn't heard but hope Guly is ok if not we are very light up top for this game. Also we could still do with another cb imo, with no Jaidi and Seaborne we are short of quality if any of Fonte, Martin or Jos get suspended/crocked.

It won't happen,Cork needs to be on the pitch from the start for 2 reasons/

a) he's a great player,well drilled in Saints tactical schema;

b) he's utilisable at CB if needs be.

Falque will get maybe 15/20 minutes if he's fit enough and if we need him.

Any news on ticket sales for this? Leicester won't be bringing more than 5-600 with it being a sky monday night game, can see it only being about 22k.

There was an article on the OS the other day about tickets still being available, so I would imagine they're not selling as well as we would hope. Probably get about 25k in the end I think.

They do that for every game so i guess that is no indication.

If we'd sold 25k+ by the time the article was published, the OS would indicate that tickets were selling out fast, but the indication in this article is that there are loads of tickets left. That's what I read into it anyway.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Falque has to offer us, but from the general mumblings around the camp he's something special. Hopefully better than nPC quality that becomes our 'secret weapon'. Hopefully the Lee signing will be completed by the end of January too, and we see one or two more additions if possible.

Wil Falque start against Leicester? It's hard to know where to put him, so I'd leave him on the bench. Keep the same team as against Forest.

Reading the Leicester forums, a lot of them think they'll beat us as they just stuffed Forest. So did we, and we're playing much better than in December. Could be a draw, but I'm going for a 4-2 win.

Shame Lee won't play Monday, according to twitter his mum is cooking him oysters currently, so not in a hurry. Hope Forest wasn't a fluke and we will have the strike power up front to get three points!

As I said on the other thread, is it not entirely possible that she came with him, at least while he settles in?

He hasn't officially signed yet so I thought as soon as he came back over he would sign his contract so expect he is still in Japan.

If I remember correctly he was due to arrive back today, yes?

So if he signed the contract today then surely the FA wouldn't sanction it until tomorrow or monday morning anyway.

Big game. Need to retain top spot. A top drawer performance would be perfect, as long as the result we need comes with it. Hate seeing West Ham at the top. This is more than just a battle between us and them, it is a battle of on and off the pitch philosophies.

Yes, whenever I've seen us on TV this season we've been truly awful. Whenever I've just watched the stream we've been great, Sky Hoodo is real people :D

But the Leeds game, first of the season, was one of our best performances so far. And we haven't lost in four televised games. No hoodoo

Well, I don't know if you guys watched the FL show last night but what a load of **** awful teams there are in the NPC this year. Not one of them play fast, open, pass and move good football and none deserve to go to the PL. Most are so **** awful they'll just come back down again anyway even if they somehow batter their way to promotion.

It makes Saints look like they really are "DC" to borrow a phrase from DM. Only Birmingham and maybe Cardiff even look as 'though they know what they're doing and Allardyce is a prize arse IMO to state that "playing the (old) West Ham" way only leads to defeat so he'll always take the ugly 1-0 route. Is he not watching Saints FFS. I loved the old Hammers and would have travelled miles to see them but not Allardyce's rabble, you wouldn't get me out of bed to watch them at the local rec.

All I pray for is that the team's that play ugly football to grind out 1-0 wins don't in the end grab all the top spots in what is by any standards a very poor league this year.

Let's face it most PL stuff is boring crap this year with few exceptions; if only Linekar stopped bull****ting about must watch matches which in reality turn out to be mind-numbing rubbish, more people in the NPC might follow Saints, Swansea & Norwich and try to play some decent football. What gnaws away at me is that one senses instinctively that dross and scum always rise to the top of a pond.

I think we've got a great chance of picking up loads of points from the other 'top' teams. Reading the WHU forum, they admit they are sh*t, they win ugly and are lucky to be up the top. They got outplayed by Forest and should have been 2-0 down before they were awarded a penalty (which wasn't a penalty). Their team is static and has no width, I don't think they'll handle our movement. I think we'll go there and win.

Brum away is a big test, they don't concede many there and are unbeaten, but they'll try to get at us and that helps us. Boro are fading away, nothing to fear there. Sounds stupid but it's the away games at places like Posh that I worry about more

Leicester rumoured to be bringing in Delfouneso on loan in time to play tomorrow according to a local journalist there.

I thought the general rule was that all players had to be registered on the friday before the weekends fixtures, never mind if you're playing sunday or monday. Might be wrong though.

Nightmare, he was just starting to get back into the groove again.

That's poss a while out too I'd imagine.

Falque to start then...

You are of course assuming the op is not just making it up. If he is not then its a pretty stupid move to put it on the web and give notice to leicester
