Leicester City build up thread

Wow this is early....

Will be interesting to see what state Leicester are in, as they have a tough game before they play us in the FA Cup replay. I'd imagine they'll rest a few for that.

We'll have a couple of new faces and according to Nigel more players back from injury, so we'll be looking pretty healthy by next monday!

We might even get a chance to see a couple of brand new signings for this game. Lee may well be in by then, plus this mystery signing Adkins referred to today. I can't see both starting, but to see something of them would be nice.

We should smash Leicester. After todays win, a couple of new faces to give the place a lift and a good weeks training everything is perfectly setup for us to put on a good show!

The sending off today is also a benefit to WHam, as they are playing Forest at home next week. Looking at the other Saturday games, Cardiff are at home to the Blue Few and Boro away to Coventry - so I'd expect all those results to go against us. Hull at home to Peterborough could go either way and Brum are at home to Watford, again I'd expect that to be a home win.

Hopefully, I'll be wrong and we'll get a few surprises, but the table could look quite tight this time next week, before we play.

I was at the reverse fixture, and thus, one of the few people to see the great Sven experiment :D

Even though we lost that match, we made stupid mistakes in the first half and battered them in the second. Unlucky not to get anything out of that game.

I am convinced that if we can keep our focus at the back, these boys are there for the taking.

Leicester are in turmoil at the moment. Lots of dressing room issues, many of the players haven't taken to Pearson. They have some good players but at the moment have no identity as a team and if we start confidently we could comfortably win. In contrast, a nervous start and Leicester growing as the game goes on would be a big problem. Good time to play them though.

We need a win here to get on a winning streak. We owe them one for the game at their place, we deserved at least a point out of that one. Confidence is creeping back in with a couple of wins and talk of new signings.

Lallana appears to be back on his game, Guly played well away from home, and Chappers is getting closer to fitness. Things are looking good IMO

A win is of vital importance to keep the promotion hunt going. I don't care much if West Ham nick the top spot, either of the top two positions get you promoted. With Boro and Cardiff dropping points, we need to hope our dodgy form is a thing of the past to keep picking up points. We've proved the squad players CAN win of needed in the last two games - now let's get the rest fit, and the new signings gelling, and make our way to the Premier League!

Pearson's teams are always unadventurous at best at home, let alone away. I think we can expect, despite the talent in their squad, a park-the-bus style from Leicester - who'll hope to nick a goal from a set piece from Mills or Bamba. It's up to us to break them down like we have most teams at SMS over the past couple of seasons.

Their best player against us at their place was Gelson Fernandes, who is not there anymore. We should beat them at home.

What!? Not Kasper!? I walked out of there in total disbelief that we lost that game and it was down to 3 absolute wonder saves from Kasper Schmeichel.

I am not going to be able to make this game do will have to settle for catching what i can on the radio.

Will not have to worry about Bamba - He's away with the Ivory Coast.

If we play as well as we know we can, we will win.

My word, just reading up on the Leicester forums about how they feel prior to this....and quite a few want Pearson out.

Are they serious?!?!!? Didn't he just join them for frigging sake?

They deserve all they get if that's how fickle and knee-jerk driven they are.

''Pearson's clueless''

''Time is running out for him''

''He looks out of his depth'' are just a few of the gems.

But loads of signings was what many of here wanting, including some of the ones they signed, so surely that can't be wrong??!

They signed too many at once, Sven was so stupid there. I think they looked better at the back with Jack Hobbs, but they sold him for £1m and brought in Mills for a fee up to £6m. Who got the better deal there!

Beckford just hasn't happened for them either, he looks awful and sulky....and is one of the reasons I'm quite pleased we missed out on him, if we were ever serious.

Their transfer approach in the summer was slap dash, no real idea of a team, just lots of good players in the hope they'll blend well - well they haven't, and they're totally broken. Pearson is probably going to need to break it up to sort them out. After the team he put together there he must be fuming at the mess he's come back to...

Surely you should know by now not to take any notice of the high percentage of halfwits on this board. They haven't a clue.

Problem was that much of the 2010/11 team were loanees, so they were bound to make wholesale changes in the summer. The issue atm is not so much the addition or integration of new players, though Sven overpaid for his signings while failing to strengthen key positions; but Pearson's reliance on the old guard. Their midfield is basically the same one that played in L1 -and most Leicester fans think its stale and short of width and creativity.

Davis

Richardson - Jos - Martin - Fox

Cork - Morgan - Hammond - Lallana

Guly - Connolly

Subs: Bart, De Ridder, Chaplow, Lee, Falque

Hard finding space for everyone really. 5 subs rule is getting on my tits.

Probably that team, but with Harding on the bench instead of Chaplow. Definite big selection headache for NA if/when everyone is fit/available.

Lets not write Leicester off. The first half up at their place they played us off the park.

We won't be top come kick off, and I can see West Ham, Boro & Cardiff all winning very comfortably on Sat.
