Lord Duckhunter Posted 13 January, 2012 Share Posted 13 January, 2012 My 12 year old has just got a Blackberry curve 8520 and I'm having a problem with the WI FI As he does not have a lot of minutes for internet under his plan, he wants to be able to connect to the home network when at home. I have set the WF FI up and it all works ok. The problem is that the phone automatically defaults to gprs everytime and only connects to the WI FI if I disconnect all his phone services. My daughter has a phone which defaults to WI Fi, if available, but I cant for the life of me see where that's an option on the Blackberry. I have googled it, but that's confussed me even more, with some articles saying that it's impossible to do. The phone shows the home network on the screen, shows WI FI symbol, but always connects to gprs. Any help would be greatly appricated.
Marsdinho Posted 15 January, 2012 Share Posted 15 January, 2012 My first response would be to sell it and buy him some toys, he's 12 FFS. Failing that... http://forums.crackberry.com/forum-f65/complete-wifi-how-47229/ http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8500-series-discussion-gemini/205935-blackberry-curve-8520-wifi.html
