Well, two of them are dead already. You simply don't like them. That's fine. But when you offered the judgments that they are over-rated, faux-angry, and aimed to please, I thought I'd respond with a different point of view. Lord Duckhunter Posted 13 January, 2012 Share Posted 13 January, 2012 I love The Who, but I am a bit uncomfortable regarding Townsends admission that he paid for child porn sites "purely to see what was there". He was cautioned by police in 2003 and placed on the sex offenders register for five years and admitted using his credit card to view images on a child porn website. Crazy Diamond Posted 13 January, 2012 Share Posted 13 January, 2012 'Tommy' was partly inspired by Townshend's abuse as a child by his uncle, I believe, so you're probably not far off, jjsaint. Great band. I think they should have called it a day well and truly when Keith Moon died, but then I wouldn't have been able to see them live twice, on both occasions I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Probably better the first time at the NIA than the second at Beaulieu Pops though.

I can respect any artist who made it on their own, regardless of my own personal taste, but not this reality TV sh*te. They are all the same bland, tallentless wannabes who apparently should be famous just because they can sing karaoke fairly well on ITV. and Peter Andre

My youngest daughter is into those One Direction twerps. She went to see them in concert on Sunday night. The eldest already has decent taste in music, so I am hoping that this is merely a phase. I don't like paying any money to Simon Cowell and the like.

Great line in Gavin & Stacey when Nessa said "All I said to Pete was where's the book?" Having said that one of my fav bands of all time. First saw them 1963/64 Bournemouth and caught most tours until The Ox passed on then called it a day.

Saint_Jonny Posted 31 May, 2012 Share Posted 31 May, 2012 REM are brilliant and so are QUEEN. **** you all. I hope U2 and all of their fat middle ages fans fall off a cliff, together, all at once. N-dubz should have been aborted. Really don't get AC/DC, I actually think they are fully ****e. Always get lambasted for that one so I usually keep it to myself. AC/DC ARE ****ING TURD. There. Have that. Don't get Black Sabbath either. Ozzy Osborne is just a brain damaged freak, never had a good voice and his band is ****. Won't be watching them at Download next week. Well I will, but I wont be paying attention.
Special K Posted 11 June, 2012 Share Posted 11 June, 2012 REM were really good up until Monster, but after that were gash. Travis are my nomination for a shyte band. "Why does it always rain on me"? Because you a miserable, shyte, ****-knuckle you ****, that's why. Never understood why Elvis Costello is lauded. Ditto Talking Heads. Most manufactured modern "music" is pony anyway, so obvious candidates are all the poncy, metorsexual boy "bands" and anyone who cannot play an instrument and tarts about on a stage singing someone elses songs. Mattio Posted 21 July, 2012 Share Posted 21 July, 2012 Most of the chosen acts are personal preference (in which case I'd chose Bon Jovi or Nickleback), the worst probably comes from one of those talent shows, bands who don't write their own music, play an instrument and can't sing... I'd like to say Jedward, but they don't really count as a band, they're just a comdey gimmick so I actually don't know!
