JRM Posted 10 January, 2012 Share Posted 10 January, 2012 We were beating oldham away 6-0 in what was probably my favourite away day of the season, train up to Manchester, bus over to oldham trying to find the ground, demolition taking them apart in front of our smallest away following all season in a game that looked tricky, would be good to have a result like that again to get the confidence back
LGTL Posted 10 January, 2012 Share Posted 10 January, 2012 I was there. Made a last minute decision to make the trip with a mate. Two phonecalls to work and a sudden "illness" and we were on our way. It was a fantastic night and ranks right up there with some of my best away games.
Saint_Jonny Posted 10 January, 2012 Share Posted 10 January, 2012 I was there too, only a short hop in the car for me! I was stood in front of Mark Chamberlain (Oxo's Dad) and I assume his brother. He kept moaning about Oxo (as Dads do at football!) but was chuffed when he knocked in the first. I was pinching myself when the 5th and 6th went in. I enjoyed the 3-1 the season before more for some reason, it was a tighter game and when DC banged in the third we all went ape ****!

Always enjoyed going to Oldham, a 'proper' away day if you will. Would have the 6-0 as the best away trip of last year.

Should have been out of sight first half - Rickie's stupendous shot from the half way line that hit the cross bar is still a highlight. They pulled a goal back and made things hairy before DC's finish in front of our lot settled it. Not enough of those ebb-and-flow games in L1 - one of the main reasons I couldn't wait for us to get out it.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 January, 2012 Share Posted 10 January, 2012 That 3-1 was a cracking game, didnt manage to get to the 6-0. Connollys finiish in front of us was absolutely class.
Dan Posted 11 January, 2012 Share Posted 11 January, 2012 It made the mini bus back bearable. One of the lads passing out on Vodka by the time we had passed Brum on the way there made for good entertainment.
