Notts Forest AWAY - Build up

memories..

I was there. For some strange reason lost in the mists of time three of us decided to go in the seats next to the away section on the side. After Armstrong's goal you can see us leaping around in the front row as he runs past. At the end a few Forest lads were waiting for us up at the back so we got ourselves transferred to the Saints terrace section to exit - they weren't amused!

Shocking away support there.

That end was actually quite big, the terrace goes on for ages, we probably had more there than it looks, I love David Armstrong and think it is a tragedy that modern footballers don't look like that

Do you really think so? He's not bad I suppose but hardly in Morgan's league.

Not sure what point you are trying to make but as a right sided midfielder or forward de Ridder is a much, much, much better option than Morgan.

As a centre midfielder, no doubt Morgan is better.

Sounds like a dodgy porn channel.

Oh IF ONLY...

We call it that because it is w***

Spent 30 minutes hitting redial trying to get through to them to renew my card so I can watch Saturday.

Customer Service? Oh no Sir, this is Qatar we are not having the service of the customer here.....

Their web site normally gets updated with "What's On" one week late, Christ knows how EoA found it was on Saturday must have used a Divining Rod rather than their web site

was Wallace left footed? If not what an unbelievable goal that is.

In spite of seeing him play loads of times, I'm struggling to remember whether Danny was mainly right- or left-footed. His famous bicycle kick against Liverpool was hit with the right foot I think. He played on either wing so I'd say that, like his brother Rod, he was highly adept with either foot. To make up for this, Rod's twin brother Ray was totally inept with both!

Did anyone else notice the Forest substitute (only one allowed back then) in that clip?

Pretty sure you can get a beer in the ground or if not the Notts County supporters bar at their ground is meant to be good.

Just remembered, why did you spam every thread in the muppet show?

I was drunk thinking that there are actually more sub-forums on this site than there are posters and I was wondering if I could reply to every thread before anyone else even visited. Obviously this would have been jam on the Motoring forum which only gets one post every three months but I thought it would be more of a challenge to try muppet show which sometimes gets as much as one post per hour. It was pretty sweet! seeing the whole forum lit up with last posted by Bearsys, I even took a printscreen which I think should be added to golden threads.

We'd better keep it on the down-low though because the mods somehow neglected to infract me for it and I don't want to remind them. In fact now I think about it, it wasn't even me it was probably someone else like 1976_child.

He was right-footed and played on the right wing or through the middle most of the time. I think that's one of the reasons he was going mad when he scored that one with his left foot.

judging by adkins interview on player I would say that the line up tomorrow is anyone's guess.

I think Connolly will start as he wasn't risked in the cup cus of minor injury. I would say Fonte wont be fit. We dont know what injury Frazer has but the way Adkins was talking suggests their are a few players that wont make it tomorrow.

Based on that assumption I would go with

davis

harding

martin

hooiveld

fox

cork

morgan

hammond

sdr

lallana

connolly

subs

bart

stephens

jwp

holmes

forte

Could go either way. If we turn up, get an early goal, we could win by a few. But if we turn up like we did at Donny/Bristol City, theres only one way the game will go IMO. Atleast Ishmael Miller is injured, he caused us all sorts of problems at St. Marys.

good call. he was a right handful that game and also in friendly against west brom. our defense was cork, fonte, hooiveld and fox that day which was first time it had played together and it really showed. hopefully we will be a lot more solid tomorrow.

Richardson looked mobile enough on the build -up video, so slot him in for Harding, other than that expect us to go with about that side except for SDR and either Connolly or Hoskins in attack with Lallana dropping back into his preferred role.

With that front two, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same lightweight display and lack of an out ball as the first half at Coventry.

Without Lambert we are always going to be more lightweight up front so we have to find another way of playing like we did 2nd half at Coventry. We should always play to the strengths of the players that our available for selection. Many posters have commented how well Lallana and Cons link up so tomorrow would be a great opportunity for that theory to be proven right.

blimey. That could go down as one of the best `wrong foot' goals ever scored. Amazing volley on your good foot, but on your wrongun, that is purely out of this world. Love that kit, blue or otherwise.

We have been garbage without Chaplow, now we've got to manage without Lambert and Fonte as well.

A draw will be a decent result.

Amazing Chaplow with his what is it 4 or 5 starts at attacking mid has become totally indispensable. What did we do to win games without him eh,when he wasn't in the side or being sent off for dodgy tackles as a CM.I think the first game he played in a more forward role was Boro at home, remember that because we'd been discussing the possibility of that on the build-up thread, then posh at home,Coventry away and Brighton at home before his injury at Brizzle, bloke has become a messiah in the space of 4 games.

Had a great time there a few years ago the day we went down. After all the mess that had preceded it for a few years and all the ifs, whys & hows, we were finally free just to go and enjoy a game, didn't stop singing all game, joined in with the Forest fans as well. They all turned to us and applauded us all at the end as well.

Back home after a trek across Dubai to find an Al Jism agent. (Thanks to EoA I actually had advance notice we were going to be on telly here)

Bought a new Sat Decoder card (US$100 for a year) so that can watch nPc CL & 6 Nations.

Got home, followed the instructions to the letter while installing it.
