Matt Le Tisseir

So I've just seen the news that Paul Scholes has come out of retirement to play for Man U for the rest of the year. Paul Scholes is a real talisman for Man U, loyal servant to the club and brilliant player on his day. He's helping them out of their current slump as results have started to go against them and they've lost players in key positions.

This got me thinking, with out current mini-slump is it time me turned to a loyal servant/talisman of our own and got Le Tisseir out of retirement for the rest of the season to give us that extra push into the Premiership?

Thoughts?

I detect some sort of competition going on for the daftest post ever. If that is the case, this forum will soon not be even worth logging on to I'm afraid. Maybe if we kept these sort of posts to the lounge, that would help....? Just a thought

Le Tiss looked slow when he was fit at the end of his career. Could be quite funny, and might do enough to distract the opposition. Paul Scholes has been out-paced since he came on for United today, given the ball away resulting in a goal for City, and looks way short of form.

Taking your slightly daft idea further, could we be the first club to employee a specialist 'kicker' for penalties and free-kicks in the American Football model....

On SSN during the games last week, they were talking about the player that was bought on just to take the penalty, comparing him to special teams in NFL, and MLT piped up with 'I could make a comeback!'

No, of course he wasn't being serious, but it did make me smile.

This was Ben Watson for Wigan against Stoke, 87th minute penalty. He was brought on as a sub after the penalty was awarded and took and scored the penalty. I do not think it would be worth risking MLT for this, would be very worried if we got a penalty after 5 minutes and had to bring him on for he remainder of the game, in place of ...................

Scholes, Henry, Forssell... the list keeps growing. Next up Cantona, Shearer, Southgate and Sir Les. And THEN Le Tiss won't be able to avoid getting on the bus! I think Nigel's enthusiasm could carry MLG around the pitch. Whenever MLG feels tired he'll look at NA's beaming smile and carry on with it. This could work!

I know some of you were thinking it's not a great idea and I was starting to think the same myself, but then I saw the Arsenal game last night and THIERRY HENRY scored the winning goal!!

This has proved to me that Matt can do it and we should offer him a contract until the end of the season (although I don't think we should extend it beyond then as he's getting quite old now).

I would love it if that happened - Mods can we have a poll?

While we're on the subject, how about bringing Paul Williams back temporarily too while Fonte's injured. A long shot I know, but seeing as he's still involved the club anyway and bleeds red and white (probably) he could probably still do a job for us in our hour of need. What do you guys think?

If there was ever a former player still around capable of doing a few fill in games surely it has to be Paul Telfer. He would be able to do a season/half season but I'd wager he'd do well in a few cameo roles.

With regard to Le Tiss, I'm sure they'd be able to do a thing with Botox injections to his knees, a couple of implants or two to his thighs and a diet of Pedigree Chum for a month or two and he'd be back for a game or two.
