According to the Daily Mail, #Celtic to go for Yann Kermorgant. #lcfc

Striker ?

Yes, Striker for Charlton, ex Leicester (missed a penalty in the play-offs for them a year and a half ago. It inspired a superb Youtube song parody)

Found it.

What you mean tap him up .......isn't that illegal.....

Impossible to police and easy to do either indirectly or directly especially if you know each other like Hooper and Adkins/Crosby do. I don't think Saints would continue their interest for this long if Adkins didn't think Hooper would be interested, I think he knows he would be. Main obstacle to this transfer happening is agreeing a fee with Celtic, not getting Hooper to want to leave.

I already have a superiority complex.

My dear fellow - an Englishman does not have a 'complex' about his superiority - he is modestly aware of it, and has the good grace not to brag about it in the presence of lesser mortals. He furthermore will not use it's advantage to the obvious detriment of those less fortunate - excepting that they hail from a PO postcode, in which case they may be treated with disdain and ridicule without fear of retribution from any quarter. :D

NA spoke to Hooper's Dad first (knows him well). Cleary there is a pull, but he is enjoying it there. IMO the main issue is what we might offer in wages -v- whether Celtic would agree to the the improved deal he wants

Saints and Celtic have enquired about Rob Hulse (The Times). May be relevant to the Hooper deal. Or may not.

Wouldn't set the pulse racing if we signed him, but he'd be good squad member. Experienced target man and striker, but not a profilic scorer. Weird that QPR signed him then left him out of their official squad.

Of course he'd probably look a world-beater in Scottish football ;)

Well if the reports are true that we've offered £24k a week immediately rising to £36k if promoted, and if one of the more civilised Celtic fans that has posted recently is right in saying they don't pay anyone much more than £15k a week, then Hooper will want to come here. The question then would be more whether Celtic will take a reasonable fee, or just tough it out, since he is on contract and they are not skint.

This is becoming very interesting indeed. It seems to me as if Hooper's decision is between being a big fish in a little pond (which it sounds like he enjoys) or a little fish in a big pond (champ/prem) with the potential of course to become a big fish.

Of course the money (if what is being banded about is correct) will also be a big factor.

Let's see how this develops, I hope it does come off as like many on here I'm looking forward to seeing Dalek explode as he has promised.

In my opinion it looks like the fee has been agreed. Many of Hoopers team mates are suggesting that Hooper has a BIG decision to make this transfer window. To me that's sounds like it is now down to Hooper to decide. Read team mate Anthony Stoke's comments.

It certainly looks more likely now than it did a few days ago IMO. These direct quotes from Stokes reveal a lot I think. Jos must surely have done his level best to sell the club too. I wonder if Hooper has met with any representatives from Saints (other than Jos). The plot thickens...

Nail. Head. For all the derision heaped here on the SPL, winning most of the time, silverware, becoming champions and roared on by delirious full house crowds is very seductive. For some players more so than being mid table in the prem, especially at his age imo. I can definitely see him moving in the summer - but if he left now it would be the money - is that what we're after?

Have checked with family who work at the airport and drive taxi cabs.....

They all said the man was called Lionel and had flown in from Barcelona..

Unfortunately the fare was for the Pompey training ground:o

Well, that would fit their wage structure.

IF (and that's a big if) we do sign Hooper I have slightly mixed emotions. How many times in the past have we had our star players taken from under our noses? Now the boots on the other foot I can't help but think how we used to feel when the roles were reversed.

Is that a joke?

Oh yeah I'll be shelling out loads of sympathy based on the amount we received for Bale/Walcott/Chamberlain.

(This is sarcastic, BTW)
