Swansea_Saint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 I could make you the owner of the World on Wiki, doesn't make it true. This is true, I am the owner of the world.

trousers Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 I hope this Billy Sharp smokescreen doesn't scupper the impending 'phase 3' of the Hooper bid....
RonManager Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 this is true, i am the owner of the world. i think not
Stepgar Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 If it happens then it happens and if I think if crazy diamond is who I think he is . Then I tend to agree with his post And who do you THINK he is?
Crazy Diamond Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Why? Because you said it won't happen? No, not because I said it won't happen. Because it's very unlikely for one thing and as for locking this thread, this new rubbish about Wikipedia is better proof than anything else. It's absurd. There are certain posters on this forum that feel as though they just HAVE to contribute and HAVE to start threads. Look at the fallout from the Leicester game, 14 or 15 new threads, many of which shouted 'LOOK AT ME!'. Half of them could have been posts in the January transfer rumours thread. Others just have to point out when someone makes a slight slip when typing, some have to be seen as the ones to start threads and they're always about things people already know or don't need to read. This thread is just drivel. There is no news, so there is no point in making it look as if there IS news. I appreciate that this is a forum and people have every right to post whatever they want but I'd at least like to see people thinking before typing or having something useful to say or talk about. If it happens then it happens and if I think if crazy diamond is who I think he is . Then I tend to agree with his post I'm interested to know who you think I am, but by my very own admission I am nobody special. Sorry people but I just think this has gone on long enough, that's all.
Wade Garrett Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Jason Roberts would have been a good signing.......
Saint Charlie Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Jason Roberts would have been a good signing....... About 5 years ago. Wouldnt be in our first XI.
Hopkins Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Jason Roberts would have been a good signing....... No. No he wouldn't have been a good signing. He would have been a desperate short term signing.
jjsaint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Jason Roberts would have been a good signing....... Yes. I can see them creep up the table in the coming months...
Glasgow_Saint Posted 26 January, 2012 Posted 26 January, 2012 Jason Roberts would have been a good signing....... 24 goals in the last 6 years and aged 33!! Yes please
Dr Who? Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Jesus, Roberts would have been terrible! If we cannot improve our team, then we just do not sign anyone.
Dr Who? Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 How about Billy Sharp? Now there is a great shout! We should start a thread!!!

mulletsaint Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 How about Billy Sharp? It's already been alluded to on here, but reading between the lines on what was said at the chairman's dinner, wages would appear to be the sticking point.
Winnersaint Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Signing for Reading according the Year 11's at my school. Reckon they are the Man City of the Championship. christ teenagers are so full of sheeite.

If they are the Man city of the championship that must make Jason Roberts the championship equivalent of Sergio Aguero,I think his strike rate rivals Heskeys
James Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 They signed 2 forwards yesterday, but since the Year 11's said it i find it easy to believe. Yeah they signed Jason Roberts and Tomaz Cyska (sp) who both play in a forward role so I'd find it difficult to believe they were signing Sharp too - hope not anyway as I want us to sign him. If we did the squad would look really strong.

If we did the squad would look really strong. Cywka is an advanced midfielder and Roberts is about 90, their new co-owner obviously wants them to have a shot at promotion this season and doesn't mind wedging up a bit.Cos signing Cywka and Roberts ain't gonna break the bank. Will cost far less in salary than Tadanari all by himself.

Yes, but they've also got Noel Hunt, Simon Church, Matheiu Manset and Adam Le Fondre at the club already. So with Roberts they've got 5 strikers at least. They won't be in for Sharp.

Dr Who? Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Plus this lad called Antonio who suddenly seems to be being played. I like him. Reading going all out for promotion that's for sure, and I bet Roberts bags loads for them, as their supply and this level Roberts even if 90 will score plenty!
Pompeyh8r Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Whose Billy Sharp never heard of him, is he related to Pat or Graham???
WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 If we are not willing to pay Billy Sharp's wage demands, I would be utterly amazed that Reading are willing to pay higher salaries than Us and Leicester. If they are with their attendances they are quickly heading for oblivion even with a new owner!!
Wildgoose Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 lol He said it was a bunch of 11 year olds at school who were talking about Sharp to Reading and suddenly the whole thread is discussing whether it might be true!!!! haha you couldn't make it up :0D
Dr Who? Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 Beggars belief. I heard a lady at the bus stop mention the word sharp and the word magpie in the space of 5 minutes.... I think he will end up at Newcastle.....

If they are with their attendances they are quickly heading for oblivion even with a new owner!! Or heading for the Prem. I think Reading are a really good team with a chance. And clearly are going for it. Good for them.
Wildgoose Posted 27 January, 2012 Posted 27 January, 2012 11 year olds aren't in year 11. HTH No, that's true! :0) My mistake! lol Not much better a source of information though hey! :0) hmmmm come to think of it nor are most of us on here! ;0)
St Jim Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 Is this thread about Billy Sharp to Saints or about Billy Sharp to Reading.?......... I'm confused, either that or I'm on the wrong forum.
Norm Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 This thread is about 11 year olds not being in year 11. I do wish people would try harder to keep up with things:rolleyes:
thorpie the sinner Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 Is this thread about Billy Sharp to Saints or about Billy Sharp to Reading.?......... I'm confused, either that or I'm on the wrong forum. If BS goes to Reading first we have got no chance as he will fall in love with the place! Picturesque, great travel system, Beautiful greenbelt, 22k stadia, the dream would be dead!!!
david in sweden Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 you can't blame the bloke for trying, but if he's intent on pushing for big bucks, best leave him alone because if he does persuade himself to come, he'll become unsettled at some point in the future, when we do sign players with higher salaries.... Lots of people tend to have the wrong balance of ambition ...and greed!
FarehamRed Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 we need to get to the truth - what year are 11 year olds in?
ooh it's a corner Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 we need to get to the truth - what year are 11 year olds in? They would be in year 6. School children start in year R (R for Reception), then the next year is year 1. Only in the wonderful world of education would somebody devise an aging mechanism that didnt match the child's age. Genius.
Winnersaint Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 OK I'll set the record straight. The two lads who told me about Sharp to Reading with such certainty were both 16 (Year 11's are aged 15-16) Both are Reading fans. They reckon we're crap based on one recently televised game. They think we sold our best player in the summer (Oxo) ignoring the fact that Lallana and Lambert played a much more important part in the run in last year than the injured Oxlade-Chamberlain did. They think that now Madejski is selling up they are convinced they are going to be right up there in the football rich list. They neither know nor care about our financial situaton but like a lot of fans from other clubs think we must be poor because of going into admin. What does all this prove? Basically your average 16 year old is remarkably ill informed, blinkered, judgemental etc. etc. so no different from your average fan then. Given how close to London Bracknell is I always find it refreshing the number of kids who support their local club instead of Chelsea. There are also Brentford, Wycombe, Palace and Saints supporters at the school also, as well as couple of Skates. Putting one of them on report was a laugh.
Dr Who? Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 I like him. Reading going all out for promotion that's for sure, and I bet Roberts bags loads for them, as their supply and this level Roberts even if 90 will score plenty! Well there is 1 in his first game.
Saint Charlie Posted 28 January, 2012 Posted 28 January, 2012 He missed the pen and scrambled it in but they all count I guess.
lordswoodsaints Posted 29 January, 2012 Posted 29 January, 2012 Billy sharp was in ikea today, been having talks with Reading and us,you heard it here first.
thorpie the sinner Posted 29 January, 2012 Posted 29 January, 2012 Billy sharp was in ikea today, been having talks with Reading and us,you heard it here first. 2886 posts mean you could be telling the truth!!!! Maybe.....Oh god, i dont know!!
