spyinthesky Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Very decent turnout to watch an under strength Saints team
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Very impressive indeed, fair play to them! Hoping for a good number up at Forest as well.
Nadia Sllim Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Top fans ....must never be forgot what a fanbase we have. Extend the stadium now!
niceandfriendly Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Brilliant following. Well done to those who made it.
Crazy Diamond Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Top fans ....must never be forgot what a fanbase we have. Extend the stadium now! Can't really see us playing again at the Ricoh.
Pedro Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Brilliant, I think the blue few had under 500 for Millwall and just under 700 for Leicester during the holidays.
Chorlton Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Pompey fan on twitter mocking us for only having 1700 up there. No, really.
Crazy Diamond Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Pompey fan on twitter mocking us for only having 1700 up there. No, really. Just under a year ago today (give or take five days) they got the same result up there in the same competition. I bet you they did not take more fans than us.
Chez Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 (edited) Just under a year ago today (give or take five days) they got the same result up there in the same competition. I bet you they did not take more fans than us.actually it was 2 years ago, when they were rock bottom of the Prem of course, and they took a few hundred, but to be fair it was midweek. Hopefully we can find our way to the final too without having cheated the taxman. Edited 7 January, 2012 by Chez
Crazy Diamond Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 they had a few hundred, but to be fair it was midweek 487 to be precise. Shocking - they were Premier League at the time, so it was two years ago, my mistake.
Chez Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I guess the micky taking is because they've sold a few tickets for Chelsea tomorrow.
Andy Durman Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 There were more than that as lots of us were in the Coventry section watching the game on the half way
ladysaint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I was surprised on the attendance today was expecting only about 4k with the boycott but think it was nearer 10k.
krissyboy31 Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I was surprised on the attendance today was expecting only about 4k with the boycott but think it was nearer 10k.Reading the Coventry forum, nobody on there believes it either. Strange it was given as exactly 9k.
This Charming Man Posted 8 January, 2012 Posted 8 January, 2012 Very impressive following from us. We took more in the cup there than 90% of the other teams who have been there in the league did. Not forgetting the fact we took over 3,000 there in the league.
Sour Mash Posted 8 January, 2012 Posted 8 January, 2012 Good numbers from us up there yesterday, but I'm not too sure if I believe the attendance information given out by Cov. In fact thinking about it a bit more, there is no way in the world the ground was a third full yesterday.

In fact thinking about it a bit more, there is no way in the world the ground was a third full yesterday. Apparently they gave out loads of free tickets. Imagine they included that in the attendance figure, despite the fact that most of them with freebies didn't turn up. There was 5-6,000 there yesterday and that included us, IMO.

I don't think under FA rules you are allowed to give freebies for FA Cup matches
david in sweden Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Very decent turnout to watch an under strength Saints team WELL DONE those fans!. Not the most attractive fixture in this season's calendar...but if we end up at Wembley again (by eliminating the remainder of the L1/L2 sides), at least they can be proud of having seen every Cup game.

dellboypete Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 I took some fotos just after KO and the place looks almost deserted - can't believe there were 9000. My comment was that I dont think I have been in such a small crowd in such a big stadium before. I was surprised how many saints fans were there too - I was only expecting 5 or 600 at the most. My first time to the Ricoh - and apart from the location (which was not as bad as I had been led to believe) I thought it is a pretty good stadium

Few gripes would be the high amount of police and stewards there on Saturday, well over the top and the disgusting pies they had on sale, 3 of my mates had them and all chucked them away unfinished!

That pie was vile. 3 mouthfuls and it was on the floor. Not one piece of chicken in it and virtually inedible.
Chez Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 I took some fotos just after KO and the place looks almost deserted there was some sort of protest with several hundred only entering the stadium 15 minutes after kick off according to ITV.
This Charming Man Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 there was some sort of protest with several hundred only entering the stadium 15 minutes after kick off according to ITV. A mate of mine went and had a quick look at the protest before the game and said there were only around 30-50 people there.
CFSFC Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Decent numbers awful atmosphere. As for the vocal saints, what a bunch of scrotes.
Sour Mash Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 A mate of mine went and had a quick look at the protest before the game and said there were only around 30-50 people there. I certainly didn't see "several hundred people" entering the ground 15 mins in.
Griffo Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Doesn't surprise me that we were vocally poor. Numbers wise we have got much better, in terms of making noise we have been awful at most places this season.
Appy Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 Doesn't surprise me that we were vocally poor. Agreed, Reading we were loud but it was hard not to be with 4000 plus, seems the vast majority just want to go to an away match and sit quietly at the moment.

We've only been good with standing and making plenty of noise at Ipswich, Leicester and Reading this season.
Sour Mash Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 We've only been good with standing and making plenty of noise at Ipswich, Leicester and Reading this season. Cardiff was good as well to be fair, at Bristol Ciy started off decent and tailed off pretty quickly, combination of over officious stewarding and Saints struggling on the pitch I guess.
ericb Posted 9 January, 2012 Posted 9 January, 2012 We've only been good with standing and making plenty of noise at Ipswich, Leicester and Reading this season. I was drunk at nearly all of those so it's clearly me that causes the noise!
