4th Round Draw - Millwall or Dagenham Away

Harsh. How many 'easy win's have teams had at home to us? Donnie maybe, City had to work very hard for it, and Brighton weren't in the game with 11 v 11. So if being harsh, 2 easy wins all season.

Dull draw though, no cup fever here. Wonder if we could dull ourselves to wembley. 5th round v hull? Quarter final at Leicester?

Millwall away is a tough game IMO, if we drew them at home I would be happy but I can see us going out in that one.

it's certainly winnable. Get a result at draw Forest and maybe beat Leicester and we'll be full of confidence for this game. I notice Bristol City beat Millwall home and away too. D&R are third bottom in league 2. I think they sold their best player - Green - a while back.

Should get through to 5th round.

kompany: I m old school, so I saw it as a brilliant tackle, skilfully executed. Arguable one of the best defensive tackles of the season so far.

Football will end up like basketball in a decade if we are not careful.

The bdrop off of form wince November does cause worries but there is stilol abig gap between Saints and either Millwall or the Daggers. Logically it should be Millwall and we should get past them but there will still be some very good Prem sides in the next round so it would be nice to get one of them at home and see how the team perrforms.

Shyte draw.

Was never a red card, nor yellow. Wasn't even a foul.

Abuse (alternate opinion) from those more qualified to: micky@iknownaffallaboutfootballandamnotaqualifiedreferee.co.uk - thanks..!

Good draw, London away at 3.00 on a Saturday.

Daggers was one of the best aways I went to last year, I'd love to go if I can get tkts.

Millwall not as attractive (understatement!) but a big away end where we will get plenty of tkts and can make plenty of noise.

Good chance of winning and perhaps getting another non-Prem team in the 5th round, a decent cup run never hurt anyone.

I thought it was a red, if you arrive at the ball with both feet, studs-up, and both legs extended you are potentially in a position to do a lot of damage to the ball carrier; the fact that Nani (?) jumped out the way is irrelevant. It was potentially dangerous and that's what he was sent off for. IMHO of course.

The part in bold is exactly the point as to why it wasn't a red, a yellow, or a foul. He didn't arrive at the ball with both feet. Just his right, then the left followed through because of momentum.

Agree with adrian lord about football in danger of becoming like basketball.

Another Saturday home 3pm game goes west if we get through 4th round. Due to play Derby on 5th round day.

As Derby are in the 4th round as well, we could lose the tie and still have the game moved if Derby win there game.

IF .....we want to give some more playing time to the likes of Jamie W-P, Sam.H. Ben Reeves and Doble ...then it's a great draw.

We can't afford to experiment too much.. when there are 3 League points at stake every week, but its obvious that we have promotion as priority then this ..." what the f*** , it's only the Cup " type fixture ... is ideal to see what they can do against lower class opposition.

After all ..if they are future Prem. material it's a chance to get some games in rather than trying them out in the away fixtures at Midd'bro ..or West Ham.

Also a good opportunity for any new signings to "gel" and get some game time under their belts.

I understand the rules thanks, I am a qualified referee.

The fact that Nani had to take evasive action to avoid being taken out by Kompany's legs/studs suggest to be that it was reckless. To the point at which he used excessive force is certainly debatable and one which I do not agree with.

When he first makes contact with the ball the studs are diving in towards in and are certainly not "on the ground".

I personally believe it to be a foul and yellow card. Quite a few guys I know who ref believed it to be a red. I still cannot see how you think it didn't warrant atleast a free-kick.

Straight red. Two feet off the ground, end of!

Yes mate, loads of good pubs around there for a full pub crawl, end up back at Waterloo for the last trains home.

pubs around waterloo might be a bit more lively than usual as i notice Skates have had their away game to Peterborough moved to that day so they will all be passing through London as well http://www.theposh.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10427~2571062,00.html

Can see our FA Cup fixture being on a Sunday now.

nah i doubt it, skates game was only moved today so after the draw was made, they would have known oure game was on and i assume received police go ahead to make the switch, any skates going by train will be passing through waterloo though which is unusual as they normally keep us apart playing home / away in opposite weeks

All 300 of them...

i agree doubt they'd take many, more like 1300 i reckon, big terrace, can see that being appealing and they are not doing too badly at the moment, they are bound to take a few by train for a game just north of London , can just imagine a few saints fans drinking in the hole in the wall turning round to find they are sharing the pub with a load of skates, makes the whole bubble trip a bit ironic when they allow stuff like this.

So, it's appears that greater minds than some on here, have upheld the Kompany sending off, and the tariff has been increased to four matches!

Repeat offender this season, gets the 1 match suspended from the last red thus 4 this time. If he gets another red I think it goes up to at least 5 or 6 games .
